Keep one in the car

I had the misfortune to get rear ended by an inexperienced driver on a snowy, icy day this winter and found myself trying to exchange information and write down info with a frozen (best selling name brand) pen that was in my glove box...FAIL!. I am absolutely positive that if I had a Fisher pen in my car this would have been a non-issue. Fishers will work in sub-zero temperatures (Sub Zero nights in Kyrgyzstan) and extreme heat (125 degree day in Afghanistan and it did not falter, real life experience.). I now carry two in the car just in case.

Solid & Low Key

After a couple months of moderate use of the SpacePen, I consider the instrument to be well built, producing a smooth and consistent line. The pen 's performance is unaffected when employing it upside-down as claimed, however I have not tried writing under water or on an oil marred surface with it, and therefore can't speak to those abilities. The matte black exterior gives this SpacePen a "plastic-e" unremarkable appearance, not unlike a disposable Papermate. That attribute may help keep the pen on your desk longer. Regardless, it's a steal at under $15 including shipping. Gotta love the KnifeCenter.
