Will customize to convex

Not long ago I got curious and convexed a 511, because I had a couple of new knives that were convexes too and I wanted something to practice sharpening them on. (You don't see a lot of beater-type convexes for sale.) I couldn't get over how cool the knife looked with those slinky curves in it after polishing, so I got this thicker one to have more material to work with. They're great as is, don't get me wrong, but I think they're also one of those knife lines that lend themselves to customizing—inexpensive, well made, and easy-to-work with carbon-steel models readily available.

Great knife, great service!

The Mora Robust is probably the most knife for the money that I've ever gotten. Comfortable handle that feels natural in the hand, a thick, wide blade with a razor sharp scandi edge, and it's apparently indestructible, according to DBK. After I slowly ground a section of the spine down with a 120 grit flap disc, it strikes a Bayite ferro rod like no one's business, but that is the only modification this thing needs to be a serious bushcrafting knife that will last a lifetime if cared for. Also, it arrived one day early!

knifecenter! morakniv!

Before i get into this amazing knife... knifecenter! knifecenter! knifecenter! . . . i couldn't be more pleased if they gave me the knife! the customer service, the price, the fast delivery... who says customer service is dead! seriously; i believe knifecenter is "so the bomb" the very best!!! now the knife: is everything i expected & much more! i sharpened the spine on a small diomond stone in about 30 min.; it cuts a ferro rod very nicely... i watched those Dutch bushcraft guys try to destroy one of these and fail... you can buy this knife for a few dollars less than a 12pack of decent beer... 5 stars + you won't be disapointed!

Truly amazing knife at any price

I plan to use this knife as a general utility hunting knife: gutting, skinning, clipping branches and so on. This knife strikes me as pretty amazing in terms of strength, durability, and sharpness. Shaves hair off my arm right out of the box. If you haven't seem the video of the Dutch Bushcraft guys trying to destroy this knife, and failing, you need to give it a look. Very informative, and pretty entertaining to boot. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKlcBpKbAvM

Great hardworking knife

Bought this for workshop/carpentry use and it's been great. The only thing I didn't like was the dull spine but I ground that crisp quickly with diamond hones and use it for as a scraper. The blade steel takes a fantastic edge easily and holds it fairly well. The handle ergonomics are pretty good, probably not as good as something fancier but certainly does the job and you get good control for delicate carving as well as comfort for harder use like batoning. I can easily recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable sturdy fixed blade that doesn't break the bank!

A must buy

Hands down best blade to own. If you have any interest in knives at all you NEED one if these. The quality can not be surprised. Iv had many blades in the past and this is fantastic! I highly recommend everyone to own one. At the price you cannot beat it. Iv used mine gutting deer, cleaning fish and intense hiking. All around a great buy. The only and I mean only con is hat you need to clean the blade after each use or it will stain. It doesn't affect my functionality but it will stain.

A Scandi Legend

Puukkos have been around for thousands of years and this knife has proven to me why. I am a big Scandinavian knife fan and I got this because I love the blade shape and it was very affordable. Plus you can find nothing but praise for them. Their is good reason for that. It is exactly what it is supposed to be and performs excellently. If I could only own one knife out of my collection, it would be my TOPS Fieldcraft because it has the heft to be more multi functional, but if I could only have one knife and I also got to have an axe with that knife, it would be a Mora. The Robust is a light but tough knife that has become my go-to yard and garden knife. If they made versions with upscale handles like Micarta, wood, and G-10, I would pretty much consider one of these my perfect mid-size knife.

Sharp, sturdy and simple

Mora Pro Robust is excellent knife for the low price. Scandi grind is scary sharp out of the factory, the blade thickness 0.128" is very sturdy. The handle is simple and comfortable for my medium size hand. High value knife for that price. Thanks Knifecenter.com for excellent services.

Very comfortable handle

This is a great addition to the Mora lineup of Robust/Heavy duty knives. The handle design offers a very secure and safe grip with the darker colored outer layer being a rubberized non slip grip. The blade shape is wider than a standard Mora, similar to the Mora 2000, but thick all they way to the tip. It has a slightly shorter blade length than the Mora Craftline/Companion Robust with more belly in the curved part of the blade. The sheath is also an improvement over previous generations of Mora's having a belt clip that fits most American style belts while incorporating a locking button clip into the belt loop area. The sheath also has the piggy back ability, another Mora can be clipped to and carried on the button part of the sheath. Also the sheath has 2 internal locking detents that "click" into matching divots in the hard part of the handle that make for a more secure hold on the knife while in the sheath. This knife shipped with a nice polish on the sides of the blade, a decently sharp Scandi grind with no microbevel, a few passes on a fine ceramic stone made it hair shaving sharp. The spine is unfinished like most Mora's, I filled it square to use a fero rod and for use as a field scrapper. A very nice knife for the price, but I prefer the Mora Craftline Robust for its pointier blade shape and "guardless" grip. I also wish it came in different colors.

Agreed: a knife every enthusiast should own

After hearing the knife guys talk about the value (lower price, solid functionality) you get with the Morakniv brand, I decided to get one and was pleased to see there’s this Robust version. The blade is indeed thicker than the basic Morakniv — 0.128” vs 0.08” or so— and it was only $4 more than the thinner blades. I’ve used it for various things and it’s performed well for basic tasks. Everyone should own one!

New favorite

My favorite for around property rough use mora so far, have three I like it that much. All came in perfect Mora fashion. Also find sheath better then most Mora sheath. Some use Mora exclusively, they are inexpensive work knives for me are a great bang for your buck. Bushcraft still my favorite Mora though.
