Great in-the-field sharpener

This sharpener isn't exactly a pull through sharpener. It is more like a rod sharpener. It takes a little more skill to use, but gives much better results than your typical pull through. It is small so it is easily pocketable, however its size makes it difficult to sharpen large bladed knives. I leave this sharpener in my hunting pack in case i need to touch up the edge of my knives when dressing game.

Overall a nice sharpener

I have used this sharpener on my pocket knives and my kitchen knives. Easy to use and the rubber ends make it stable with no slipping. Serrated edged knives are a little tricky to do but I was able to get it done with good results. Overall I like it!

Good on hard steel blades

So far I've use this for my ever day carry Benchmade knife and it easily brought back the sharpness to it. I believe a knife needs to be its sharpest to be used safely and this product did what I wanted.

Functional, but unnecessarily bulky

This tool is a lot bigger than I expected. It is almost the size of my palm, and I have extra large hands. Instead of stacking the V shaped rods on top of each other, they could have easily made the tool smaller and more pocket friendly by placing them next to each other like so: /\\/.

Well designed pocket knife sharpener

I have a fairly large knife collection and the GATCO does an excellent job of "touching up" my knives to super sharp condition. Well designed, thoughtful rubber inserts on the feet to prevent slipping. Seems to be a sturdy construction. I could not find any fault with the little sharpener. Satisfied with what I got for my money.
