Great tool

I cary the knife in my pocket everyday, the clip although snug slips inndmd out of my pocket smoothly. The blade opens easily, the blades lock on the side and not below the blade is a Grest innovation. The blade is a good size, with a Nivea grip and feel in my hand . The blade seems to hold an edge pretty well, although it already needs to be sharpened after normal use for me ( I'll get to that this weekend ),

Very Good EMS Knife

As an EMS pilot, this knife flies with me on every mission. I've never used the O2 wrench and hope never to need the window breaker or seatbelt cutter, but they're there should I ever need them. I have no doubt that they will work as advertized. The fairly heavy blade cuts well and holds a decent edge. One handed opening / closing is very comfortable, and the blade locks solidly with no play. The forefinger detent ensures that fingers won't slip onto the sharp blade. This is a real winner from Gerber!

Great Rescue knife

I have carried one of these on me every day for the past 4-5 years both at work on the ambulance and as an EDC knife. I believe i'm on my second or 3rd. It is a great knife and has many great features. The seat belt cutter and oxygen wrench work fantastically, and the oxygen wrench is a feature not found on other knives. The window punch works as well as a non spring loaded punch can though i still carry a spring loaded punch on me because it works better. the knife works great both for on calls and for around the station/house. My few complaints about the knife are i do wish the knife metal was more durable, it needs resharpening a few times a year if you want it razor sharp. After a few years of hard use some of the screws need to be tightened. I also wish the clip was a bit smaller and adjustable. Overall this is a knife i will always replace until something better comes alone.

Great Gift!

This knife is built pretty solid. It was a gift for my mom who wanted to have the extra seatbelt cutter and window breaker in case of emergency. She has yet to use it which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending upon how you look at it. Knife Center information was great and on point. Overall great experience.

Good Knife Fair Price

I use my Gerber CLS for utility work. The shape of my knifes handle is adequate for downward cutting. The knifes point sticks easily through carpet,tar paper, and cement bags, without losing its edge. If there is one aspect of the knife I would change I would upgrade the material used to make the handle and add a small, replacable, powerful strobe light and encase it in the handle near the top portion of the steel opposite the blade. The light would be capable of switching from a solid state to strobe and from white to red. The tight, quick strobe would act as a signaling device for trucks coming onto the parking lot early in the morning and would make a good S.O.S.

Very good blade. The locking mechanism is a little hard to manipulate. The seatbelt cutter and window punch are very nice as well.

There to save your life

This knife is designed to do anything you'd need it to in an emergency situation. Whether it be self defense or dealing with a car accident, this knife has it all covered. My wife carries one around with her wherever she goes, and I keep one in each of our vehicles. I've looked at just about every other emergency-service knife on the market, and this is the one that I always come back to, and for good reason. It's just a solid and trustworthy multi-tool. The reason I give it four stars instead of five is because I wish it was offered with a higher-end blade steel, rather than just the underwhelming 440A. Give us an updated option with S35VN or MagnaCut. This knife deserves it. I'll gladly pay double for the better steel. Also, I wish the thumb studs and lock stud were more user-friendly for people just using their bare hands. Most people using this knife are not going to use it with gloves. I always end up swapping in my own custom thumb studs on this knife to make it more user-friendly. Regardless of those few things though, this is easily the most dependable emergency folding knife you can get.

I EDC this knife for 2+ years, and it has been very useful for myself. Although the wire stripper broke awhile ago, it doesn't stop me from using the knife. I have pryed on this blade, dropped it multiple times, lost it in the snow and found it a month later, accidentally drove over it with a fork lift, and after all that it is still going strong No chips in the blade or lost tip. This solider will be hard to put down once it does get replaced. One thing to keep in mind, is most people are not use to the lock style of this knife. I have had multiple people just hand me the knife back open because they cannot figure out to just slide the side lock. That being said I love this. Makes it so people know for sure it is your knife if it is ever lost.

Needs work.

Will cut through almost anything... Lasts but after a year it will barely hold a sharp edge for more than a few days & the belt clip is about to fall off even after numerous times of tightening them... Would suggest Lok-Tite. Gerbere should have & could have made the windoe punch & the seatbelt cutter integral to the overall design instead of shamefully placed pieces to get caught. Overall a decent design, but not worht what I paid for it...

Let's Be Honest...

I didn't purchase this knife because I thought it was going to be kick b***. I got it because it's part of my Hinderer Collaboration collection. It was $76.00 and knew what I was in for. It was sharp out of the box and that's about it. Lock works well, feels good in the hand and it has some good weight to it. The pocket clip is not that deep and the knife sticks out quite a bit. Opening it is like prying open an old coffin. Very tight and barely moves, I don't think it's going to break in anytime soon if at all. Thumb studs work but only for a slow open, not very fidget friendly at all. This will never be in my rotation but it's now part of my collection.
