Pros: Blade Sharpness, Finish, Handle Material, Materials, Overall Quality, Sheath/Scabbard, Weight
Cons: Blade Material
Makes a good first impression
Picked up an example earlier this year for use around camp and am pleased overall...but I haven't put it to any real use, so take this review as a first impression only. Came with a decent enough edge, seems sturdy enough and comes with a functional sheath. Tip is acute enough for delicate work, but I might prefer it to be a hint better supported. I would of course prefer it be made of a higher quality steel, but 440A is at least a familiar animal, and Gerber doesn't even list the steel used in some of its products. Wouldn't recommend (or have purchased) this knife at the MSRP, but at $19.95, I'd call it a pretty good deal.
