great knife

this knife is very sharp out of the box ,and the sheath is very heavyduty . this knife gets the job done. the only comment that i can make is that the sheath in the picture isn't the one you get which is disappointing and the sheath you do get is not comfortable when you sit and its on your belt but the sheath can stand up to any thing and everything you throw at it.

Alaska Tested Knife

This is a good knife, especially for the money. Tested thoroughly, especially in Alaska. Used for cutting, chopping, and general fire building.

Built like a tank

When I got this is the mail, I felt like I was the little boy on christmas! This thing is the anti tank gun in the knife world. You can compare this to any combat knife and this will come close if not beat it. Other than the weight and access of straps on the sheath, it is great.

This knife is great. Hadji skin didnt stand a chance with this blade. My favorite part was how the blade kept its edge after severing many throats. the weight is good for long 60 mile treks into the mountains of afghanistan to slice taliban dudes up. I highly recommend this knife for anyone who plans to do some serious killing, especially all airborne rangers lik myself.

this is a really nice knife. the handle is extremely comfortable and the sharpener in the sheath works really well. the sheath itself is a great quality, but removing the knife from it is a little difficult. a very good knife overall

Perfect Knife

I got this knife for $100 and it is well worth it. I live in the foothills of Nevada and there are coyotes and some cougars. This knife is a great defense knife and survival knife so it's perfect for hiking almost anywhere.

Pretty good

I own one of these in black and foliage, and have been pleased with them. I ordered this one in coyote and the blade wasn't formed right at the tip, the edge wasn't straight. Must've just gotten a lemon but I'm not sure how it escaped the factory quality checks. Oh well, overall good blade though.

Good survival knife

Definitely a heavy duty knife, I haven't used it much but it should stand up to significant abuse. The edge is thick and well suited to heavy-duty utility chores, not as much for slicing. It could be sharper out of the box but it's good steel and sharpens up well. The sharpener in the sheath works well for touch-up in the field only and is a good idea, but overall they try to get a little too clever with the sheath (it doubles as a hammer handle for the glass breaker via some rearranging of belt loop and straps, etc.) and the extra features end-up being more awkward than useful (except for the sharpener). It's not quite long enough to be a good chopper, but in general the weight and balance are fine.

Whoa - is this a big honker or what?

The first surprise is all the straps. You can hardly believe the mass of stuff that comes out of the box. The upside is that you can attach this intelligently to any part of your gear or anatomy. It comes with a pressure release and two snap straps on the handle. So if you are suddenly thrown out of the earth's atmosphere, the knife remains in the sheath. The knife itself is about the mass of a Stanley flatbar reduced to a ten-inch knife. So it's more like an Abrams tank than you would expect. The pressure release is sturdy. You can probably remove one or both snap straps and sew them back on after the first ten- or twenty-thousand uses. One downside of this is that the handle is a bit big-around for small hands. As a weapon or a tool, I don't think anyone would be disappointed though. After the big one, all that will be left are cockroaches, Keith Richards, and these knives.
