This is a great little knife for every day. It disappears into my pocket and I don't know it's there until I need it. I don't like pocket clips, so I removed it right away. The blade is pretty sharp out of the package and I did touch it up to bring it to razor sharpness. The flipper is convenient but you do need to give it a bit of a flick with your wrist to open it all the way. I am somewhat used to assisted opening, but this little beauty will do the trick. The liner lock is a bit stiff to unlock, but I'd rather it be a bit difficult to unlock for safety's sake. It is lightweight, seems sturdy, and has a very useful blade shape. No, it isn't a Spyderco, but doesn't cost $100 either. For ten bucks it's a great value and I won't be heartbroken if something happens to it. Would make a great gift.

Great little knife

I've got lots of knives and have dealt with Knife Center many times. Knife Center's service is ALWAYS top notch! As to this knife: I LOVE it! For the price, ya can't beat it! I've been constantly looking for the perfect EDC knife. Switched em so many times. This Gerber EVO has been in my pocket, on my person, longer than any other knife! It's light, unobtrusive, when in my pocket, I don't even know it's there. But, when I need it, for cutting bait, line, rope, whatever it's nice to know it is there and it stays sharp......I've bought 4 of them! Hey, for only 10 bucks and what it does, this knife deserves a 5!

SMALL PERFECTION

The EVO Jr is all business, no flash, and probably the perfect size for every day carry. If you're not addressing a moose carcass or attacking a ninja, the EVO Jr will perform flawlessly. The false-edge back is not a "combat" vanity but removes excess and makes the blade both strong and thin enough for delicate cuts. Practical, usable, unobtrusive, nearly perfect.

Heat gun and lithium grease

Bought an assortment of knives with 3-in or less blade lengths (legal in Los Angeles County). Price range $4.95 to 35.60 (Gas Monkey, Smith &Wesson, Ontario RAT model 2, Kershaw 8700). Nothing fancy. All practical and functional. Satisfied customer. This particular Gerber EVO Jr. Flipper knife action was very stiff and squeaky. Used a heat gun and lithium white grease to loosen up the flipping/opening/closing action. About 5 minutes later, the knife is absolutely perfect (especially at $11.95). Recommend it, however it may need a little fine tuning for better "action."

Great Knife

I owned one of these for about a year, and then I sold it. While I was using it, it accomplished all necessary tasks. It was the perfect size, and opened easily. Great overall feel. Only problem was that the blade wiggled slightly. This might have been a one time thing, but it is one of my pet peeves with knives. Don't let that keep you form buying one!

good little knife

I carry this knife in my pocket every day; it's a little large for that but I like the extra length of blade for anything a little more serious than opening letters. Love that it is so light, and has a great utilitarian blade shape. Prefer the non-serrated, those serrated blades seem to catch/snag/tear when I've used them. And with the gerber blade, it sharpens up as nice as you need for about anything. I've shaved spots of my arm for the razor test with every gerber I'v owned and this one is no different. Nice edge! Only things I don't like is the pocket clip is a little too stiff/tight, and that it is not assisted-opening; I've been carrying AO's for a while now and love the easy one-handedness. Even so, with the flipper style, it is so smooth that just the slightest flick of the wrist is all that is needed to finish opening it once you pull back that flipper with your index finger. Try it once or twice and its as natural as breathing. Overall, a great little blade that's perfect for jeans or jacket pocket, razor sharp and easy opening, and at a nice comfortable price as well. Thanks Gerber for another great product!

Would be a a decent knife if not for the so-called flipper tab

I bought 2 of these as inexpensive beaters and I can not flip either one to the open position without a lot of wrist motion. I tried to take one apart to lube it and loosen it up a bit but the assembly screws are so hard to move that I twisted the tip off the screwdriver trying to loosen them. They are nice looking knives that do not have a cheap look or feel to them but I would not buy another one. If you want to use the thumb studs and ignore the flipper, then I thing you will be happy with it.

Hard Flipper:

Flipper hard to use and hard to adjust. Did not find this knife easy to use as far as opening with the flipper. I purchased 3 as gifts to some young lads that were interested in a small flipper knife but these did not fill the bill. Hk

Junky and Hard to Flip

This thing is a waste of metal. It takes more wrist than finger to flip, which is ridiculous for such a small knife. The pocket clip is right-hand, tip down, so expect to grip lots of clip instead of handle. For lefties like me, the thing's impossible. I wanted a light, easy carry for summer, but all I got was a hole in my wallet.
