Great edc

This knife met all my requirements: made in the USA, 3 inches or less, left side carry available, affordable price point. I am very happy with the low weight, fantastic flipping action, sharp edge, and solid edge retention. As others have stated the edge grind is not very even, and the knife is asymmetrical, but the asymmetry is just good design in my opinion. A second liner was totally unnecessary and I am happy they didn’t include it as that saves weight, thickness, and cost, all important things for an edc, which in my opinion this knife excels at. I am willing to put up with some very minor quality issues to support an American business. This knife is great at the role it was designed for, and I love the design and construction.

This one is a winner

Seems that DCA was right, this offering from Gerber is really worth a closer look. This thing feels great in the hand, the hard anodized aluminum scales have just enough texture to provide a balance between smooth and a solid grip. Weight and thickness are spot on and it just screams EDC for me. The flipper action is smooth and fast right out of the box, rivals many assisted openers. The clip is good and unobtrusive though not deep carry. Awesome blade size/shape and love the stonewash S30V steel. The construction is a little unusual with a half liner which results in the appearance of imbalance in scale thickness which makes the blade sit towards the front scale side of the knife (centered, but the knife is not symmetrical). Really the only bad thing is the edge grind - it is really and truly awful, sharp but awful (nothing that can't be fixed with a little re-profiling). Oh, and the packaging (box) is a little excessive.

Honestly, I was let down. It got good reviews but there are some serious quality control issues. The blade centering was completely off. The blade is touching the left scale when its closed. The grind is very uneven. And there was some slight blade play. I was hoping for better quality.
