Gerber nails it

I have arthritis in my hands and opening and closing typical knives has become difficult so I decided to buy an auto. This knife seems to me perfect in size not to big or small, great edc.Great quality.I have another knife with CPM S30V steel and it is a hard use knife, the steel is hard and tough. The average person will probably never have to sharpen this knife. One thing I really like is the push button and lock are exposed on the back so it can be easily cleaned of lint or whatever. The clip side is smooth so it won't wear out your pocket. There is nothing about this knife I don't like and at a hundred dollars I think it is a real value. And it is made in the USA. KUDOS to Gerber.

Great knife

Holds an edge very well. Had this knife about a month, and I haven't cut it any slack because it was new. I have cut through copper wire. I don't know how much cardboard. Cut heavy weeds and small saplings etc etc. It is still very sharp, although i did sharpen it myself when I got it. Looked like it was quickly sharpened on a belt. But it's held an edge far past when my other knives would need sharpening. The blade did have a little wobble when i got it. I eventually snugged up the screw the blade pivots on. But no big deal to me. If it was a 300 dollar knife I might only give it 3 or 4 stars. But for 130 I will not hesitate to give it 5 stars. Thats cheap enough that I'm not afraid to use and abuse it. And I have now had it long enough to tell it can take it. I love the serrated part, and i don't understand why more knives don't have this feature. If something even starts to be stubborn, just glide on down to the serrated part. The blade opens with authority, but doesn't feel like it wants to fly out of your hand. Great knife!

Tradesman necessity

Roofers, electricians, mechanics, drywall technicians, ... are constantly reaching for a knife with just one hand free. The automatic knife is indispensable. This Gerber knife with a serrated blade will cut through really thick material easily. The knife is quite hefty and the auto is reliable. The only drawback of a serrated edge is that it cannot be sharped easily, although the edge lasts quite a while. Thanks to Governor Youngkin for for making automatic knives legal in Virginia last year.
