Had this knife for years

I think for $30 it was a great daily driver until I drove it right into security at the stadium. I don’t abuse my knives, they’re a tool and I use it appropriately. I flicked this knife open a lot to cut things open. I even used the blunt edge at times to get cans or caps open, worked great. If it was spring assist it would be awesome, that being said I was able to close the knife with one hand no problem. open, closed no complaints. Best of all this knife fit well in the pocket and low, no need to buy a new clip, the knife doesn’t show.

It's a good thing that I only bought it for its looks

Because that's the ONLY good thing about it. Gerber, why would you put a flipper tab on a knife that will not flip? Sure you can flick it open if you add a lot of momentum - A LOT... as in not just wrist flick, but moving the whole arm flick. Once open there is a rattle caused by lock-rock. If you put a lot of pressure on the frame lock it will tighten up, but that should not be required on a new knife. I don't expect a Gerber knife to be very sharp out of the box, so this one being consistent with that expectation doesn't bother me. But - it does look pretty cool.
