A lot of fun at a great price

I like knives and wanted to learn about Ulus so I picked up this knife. It's nicely made. I like the sheath a lot. I tend to use it on camping trips as a kitchen/griddle knife. The smaller size and ability to hang off anything you hook it on, keeps it always at hand. My nephew calls it the SPAM knife because it seems purpose built to slice up the blocks of SPAM. If you want to explore a novel knife design this is well worth the entry price.

I like it ul-ot

Fit and finish are very good. Would have like something harder than 7cr but sharpening will be easier and I'm not afraid to use it and ding the edge. Shaving sharp out of the box, and it's ergonomics are really nice in the hand. I'll be using this alot this summer for camping, and I'm excited for a nice utility tool like this to prep food or whatever else needs doing in camp. Handle materials are nice, there is a nylon/plastic type layer under the G10. Handle seems securely pinned however I haven't used it heavily yet. Unique piece at a good price. This is my only Gerber, I am skeptical of the brand but I haven't seen many production ulus and wanted to give it a try!

I am not a Gerber fan at all but I got this for Xmas and was actually impressed it's sharp seems to be built well the steel is nothing special but works and will sharpen it's my first ulu and it's fun to use
