Nice

Say what you want about Gerber. 15 bucks on clearance. Even 50 would be fair these days. Moving the thumb stud should help with opening. Stripped the screw, but that's on me. Really though, nice knife.

Cons: Lock Type

Purchased this for a song.

This item is sold out so reviewing it is a bit pointless. I doubt it will be reordered since they were selling it for $15 & it started out at $34.95. But it's well made. Very sharp. Liner lock is extremely solid. In fact it's not easy to disengage. Glad that I got it before it sold out.

Gerber

This is a perfect example of the lack of quality control that's pervasive with Gerber products. I have to use two hands to open AND shut this fish sinker. I've worked it for a hour after applying oil to the thin copper (?) washers that serve as the bearing point of this knife. Nada- no go. Takes a square headed bit to loosen the one-sided pivot and I don't have one. Oh well, I'm going to keep it for a shining example of why I don't purchase Gerber products.

Flawed design. Unsafe

Got this on a clearance for a song, glad I didn't spend much. Typical of Gerber it is razor sharp right out of the box. The profile is slim and the clip is decent. However you probably aren't putting this in a pocket as it is very long. Certainly doesn't fit my idea of a discrete gentleman's edc. The blade is long as well. So much so that In my local this is illegal to carry. When open it has a rather culinary shape and feel. I expected some of this but purchased it intending to leave it in a top drawer in one of my shops. What I didn't expect was getting cut every time I tried the thumbstud. The design is fundamentally wrong in that the blade is so slim that the stud is quite close to the edge. You can adjust it laterally but there's no position where my thumb doesn't end up on the cutting edge as i overcome the detent and it jumps open. Tried the whole range and concluded the stud is impossible to use. Need to remove it and use the slot as a nail nick to open it with 2 hands.
