Excellent product, Great Value

This product is robust, solid, and compact. It is well designed and having two essential survival tools in one makes it a worthwhile addition to any emergency kit. Gerber did a good job creating this one. It is a little heavy, but it's hard to get something that works with a cutting edge, if there is no weight behind it.

Excellent

I've owned this Hiking axe for 6 or 7 years now and it performs excellent ! Mine is older and doesn't have the gator texture on it though it is super easy to grip as well . For camping , it's almost indispensable . Splitting limbs and small logs for the fire is where it's at and this axe is beefy enough to split them well . I thought the knife that was in the handle would come out but it doesn't ... the magnet works well even with the axe is in use ! It's constructed well and is under two pounds . If you drive into your camp , by all means , bring a bigger axe .. but for hiking , so long as youre ok with 23 oz for an axe , which how couldn't you be if you want an axe as I'm not aware of one that is lighter and as strong .. then this guy is a total winner .The knife in the handle is very sharp and extremely useful also . For hikes more than a couple days ... I always bring mine

Great combo

I have owned this set for over a decade and I really love it. I keep it in my truck and have it at all times when I am in it. My daughter recently started driving the truck and I made certain she included it for emergency situations. The axe was dull but it sharpened up easily and remains sharp.This set is a must have.
