Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Ease of Use, Overall Quality
Cons: None
GREAT addition to Moto-Camping Kit
This is a light, low volume saw when folded. It's a tad over a 1lb. and fits in the bottom with some other "hard" gear in my motorcycle's pannier with no problem—so, very easy to carry. The toothed edge of the blade folds into the backbone and won't cut or harm anything when stowed. It also has a plastic cover for the teeth. It unfolds into a conventional saw shape which is something I like and looked for, rather than a "sword" type folding saw. Excellent control. I believe it saws more efficiently. And saw it does. It made light, fast work of logs about 4" in diameter. It'll cut larger ones, no doubt. Very rigid when set-up. Quite sharp, only seconds to unfold and lock-up. I can't believe I waited so long to acquire one of these. Makes cutting fire wood a breeze. One of the best, most useful pieces of camping gear I've ever bought. It has a standard 12" cutting blade, so if/when it does dull, I'm fairly certain you could find a replacement in any hardware store. Very convenient, as opposed to most of its competition and dirt simple to change the blade. Just keep tabs on the swivel hook in the handle as I notice it's possible that it could unscrew itself if you turned it the same direction all the time to hook it into the blade. I'm sure it would let you know if you need.to screw it in as it wouldn't put tension on the blade. On the other hand, you can tension it as tight as you please. The saw is a little pricey—but certainly worth it. I highly recommend it.
