Ace Iona Sailor
This is my first Giant Mouse and am looking forward to break in then long term use. As of late been trying some EDC blades of average size. The draw on the Sailor was the rock textured scales and the S90v blade steel. Fitting the average folding pocketknife size, this offering turns out to be on the smaller end of average. This is certainly welcome with warm weather around the corner and my like for gym shorts. A nice 4” handle is just right and under 3ounces is nice also. This one should disappear into the pocket. Just getting acquainted with the Sailor there are a couple of areas I’d change if I could. Be nice to have just a little access to the lock tab. Both scales are equal height so for now it’s a nail nick to get the lock tab. This should break in to a thumb push eventually. The only other thing I wish were different is the amount of jimping on the spine. May have to bring it on back with a rotary tool just to enhance the purchase on the spine. All in all the Sailor is a welcome addition and should offer long times of use before needing sharpening. Really nice to enjoy a strop session ever so often to keep these super steels sharp before needing a serious session of sharpening. Ready to put this one to task and enjoy what it has to offer.
