Serious and Rugged Working Knife
The Alden is a serious and rugged working knife. Its best attributes are an excellent blade profile, a generously sized handle that is comfortable, secure and ergonomic, and a scary sharp cutting edge. The fit and finish of my Alden was very good. The only “oops” I found was a 1/2-inch run of very fine wire edge on the curve of the blade; this was easily removed with a diamond hone. Also, the Scandinavian grind on the blade looks a bit serrated, but the actual cutting edge is smooth and VERY sharp. It’s also quite durable; it took a month of both test and work cutting before I needed to touch up the edge. The handmade sheath is very nice. This is a great hunting knife and an exceptional value at its price.
