Near Perfect
I got this Gen 2 knife as a Christmas gift. Hogue makes an excellent factory edge. The centering is perfect and the action is great. The scales have a good texture and feel great in the hand. The deep carry clip is as good as any. The one imperfection is when you middle finger flick the blade open there is a hint of lock stick. Otherwise Hogue has created the perfect EDC.

Smooth, lightweight but sturdy
I use this knife as my EDC. The guys in the Hogue factory get a pat on the back. Manufacturing-wise I can't find a single flaw. The blade passes through paper like it was smoke. The action is smooth as silk. The screws are flush to the scales both on the inside and outside of the knife and I like the deep carry clip. The one thing I would change is I would shape the butt end of the scales more like that of the K320 because if you're not careful the tip of the clip point blade will bite the meaty part of your palm. Once you adjust the way you hold the knife it's not a problem but if I were to lend the knife to a friend I would warn him about it. All in all I absolutely love the Deka.

Unbelievably sharp!!
This is my new favorite knife. Unbelievably sharp from Hogue. Cuts hair as well as a see through layer of skin. Like feel of knife and weight is spot on. Lighter than my usual EDC. Only complaint is opening seems a little dead feeling, I’m used to assisted opening so probably me. When open feels very secure and I like the lock it has. After normal day of use where my current CPM154 blade needs a few passes on sharpener to be razor sharp this needs nothing. Even after a full week of use still razor sharp. Very impressed. Excellent value.

Beautiful knife
Love this knife. Only con is I would like a deep carry pocket clip but that's just my preference and the clip you get is strong. Note: the first one I got had a slight flaw on the edge but Knife center allowed me to send it back and replaced it free of charge. Overall this knife is fantastic and very high quality for the price.

Great build quality and looks great would have been a five star but handle is too small for all but people with tiny hands could do with a deeper pocket clip but overall value for price great steel and ultra sharp out of the box.

Great value
For the price, it’s hard to beat the Deka’s build. The ABLE lock is just as good as any Benchmade AXIS. The out-of-the-box action on this knife is definitely better than all my Benchmade AXIS knives out-of-the-box. Overall, great knife! My biggest complaint is with the scales/scale screws— the screws just aren’t counter-sunk into the scale enough, so a couple of them can be felt in hand. It’s pretty trivial, but the screwheads can be sharp, and all my other knives at this price point have perfectly recessed scale screws. Otherwise, the pocket clip has a little too much tension (can be bent out to correct his ), and I wish the clip used a more standard screw pattern so it could easily be swapped to a deep carry.

Blade doesn't hold an edge
I love it except for the soft 20CV steel. That was the main reason I bought it. I carry this or my $25 Buck 112 and the Buck 420HC holds an edge much longer. No I don't abuse it and the blade looks new, minus the metal of many sharpenings. Not sure if they screwed up the heat treat, or maybe mixed up the steel with some cheap stuff? Who knows... The blade is also loose now. Not sure if it's the pivot bolt or the hole in the blade, but my guess, based on the soft steel, is the hole is elongated.

Going to take hours to fix the blade
I love the design of the knife and the crossbar mechanism is very smooth out of the box (compared to the benchmades I've bought/used). It feels like a rock compared to a bugout too. I'm liking that they offer a deep carry clip now (lots of reviews complained about the normal clip). The centering was off, but I don't generally care too much as long as the knife operates as expected. The knife grind is a travesty. I'm honestly extremely shocked. The grind is something like 30 degrees on one side of the belly and 25 degrees on the other side. The tip is also uneven at something like 20 degrees on one side and 12 degrees on the other. I wouldn't expect something that bad on a $30 knife let alone on a $150 knife. It'll take hours on my KME to get things straightened out. Maybe mine is a one-off mistake, but I know most people don't have the tools to do a serious edge reshaping and don't want to spend even more shipping it back to be replaced.
