New favorite edc
This thing is great! Came shaving sharp. Just had a baby and the amount of Amazon boxes we accumulated for baby things in between recycling pickups was staggering. This knife went thru it all like butter and was still shaving sharp at the end. It's comfortable and light too. I think I want the titanium one too.

The Quintessential Gentleman's Folder
The Hogue Mysto Collector's Edition is the quintessential gentleman's folder. It's graceful, has a swift profile, and the action is superb. In contrast to the Deka, the Mysto's blade is narrower and longer, addressing exactly what I felt the Deka was missing. I'm hopeful that the blade's hardness is truly around the stated 62 HRC, as that means it should be able to take a very fine, acute edge. If you missed out on the Hogue sale, do yourself a favor and put this on your wishlist. It's well worth waiting for the next discount.

Hogue Mysto thoughts
Very good EDC, Not perfect, but pretty good. Pros: Extremely light in the pocket, almost too light! Carbon Fiber scales: very grippy. Handle size: It's a bit dainty for my large hands, but not truly a work knife either. Great thumb-stud, if you're into good thumb-studs. flipping action is good on the open, less great on the closing, needs more heft. Love the glow in the dark thumb stud - is remarkably bright. The coating on the blade makes it less desirable for cutting food and fruit. the coating sticks, or drags a little more than uncoated blades. Looks: It's bad-a**! The indigo screws-accents looks great against the CF. Pocket clip works, but for the price of the knife it's pretty pedestrian. Blade length: a tiny bit shorter than I prefer, but very usable, Overall, it's a little closer to a gentlemen's-carry style of knife. I also ordered the Tactile Knives Maverick at the same time: much prefer the heft, blade length and action is smoother. But you'll not go wrong with the Mysto.
