I've carried a pocket knife since I was eight yrs old, 52 years ago. I carry at least one, usually two pocket knves and one fixed blade. This knife, Hogue X5, is pricy, but it's Made in America. It is a quality knife that cuts extremely well. It opens quickly using the flipper, Pressing the lock button all the way in takes little effort and the blade can be snapped shut easily and quickly. It looks awesome and badass too. My only gripe is the small pocket clip. I've purposefully bent pocket clips on many of my knives to get the fit I wanted, but don't try bending the pocket clip on the X5. I tried to open it as it it too tight for many of my pockets and it snapped into two pieces immediately. Hogue Customer Service is great. I was able to order a replacement. If I could redo my order I would get the 4" rather than the 3.5" as the grip isn't too small to be a problem, but I have big hands and the larger size would suit my hands better.

Great Blade, Poorly designed handle
I purchased the 4" spearpoint roughly 6 months ago and up until now everything has been great. The blade still opens/closes/locks perfectly, holds a great edge and is just all around a functional everyday knife. My issue, is that now, the clip itself is in such a spot that it just gets hooked on everything, i cant understand it, ive had a knife clip get stuck on things before but never as frequent as this knife, the clip has since bent and snapped off and when it snapped i noticed a missing screw that holds the two sides of the handle together... the toughest ive used this knife is on a packing tape... i dont use it outside or on anything that i should be using a box cutter for. Im just a little disappointed that i spent $220.00 on this knife and these simple little issues are occuring. Other than that i really dont have any complaints.
