Always sharp

Great for every day carry. I use it in the office to open the mail and in the field to field dress my deer and other game. I keep one in the boat and my tackle box. This is the IPhone of knives.

Havalon Piranta Knife

I have wondered why no one has done this before...these knives have a blade sharp as steel can get...they have good blade life..I touch mine on the stone a couple times before I change it...never had a blade break like many scaple blades do...light and easy to open. When I first saw it I thought it was cheap but not so...they are made of high quality hardened steel and very well engineered and made. Its my new favorite knife. If I had to make one improvement it would be opening..its very easy to open with two hands but hard to open with the flick of the thumb like some knives...but its not all bad because they dont come open in your pocket like some do either.

Sharper than sharp

1) Skinning and quartering an elk was quick and easy. One blade did the job. 2) Sharp........... 3) Be careful.

More knife than it looks like

The replacable blade knife is an interesting concept. At first I frowned on it thinking it was for people who did not know how to sharpen a knife. The insignificant cost of the replacement blade makes sharpening a waste of time, however a couple of passes over a ceramic stone rapidly restores the exceptional edge. On the negative side: changing blades is a little tricky, I lost my first Piranta because of the pocket clip (I took the clip off of the second one), and I did unintentionally break a blade. The piranta is much more than a pen knife but less than an axe.
