Fun, interesting, not super practical

I bought this inexpensive knife because I thought it looked interesting. I collect little knives with interesting mechanisms. This definitely qualifies as such. I didn't buy it with the intention of using it for anything and probably won't. Still, it would cut small things in a pinch. My particular example arrived quite sharp. The blade being extremely thin makes it very slicey. The star rating is based on its novelty value.

Nice to have...

It is a very sharp knife, but it is very flimsy. Serviceable for lite work but I will not carry it everyday. It will most likely end up in my car emergency kit.

Interesting Novelty Item; Durability Questionable

I bought one of these in black (ISBCARDB2). This "knife" is an interesting novelty, perhaps a cool conversation piece, but not practical for anything I can imagine. It is thin enough to fit in a wallet when closed. However, the safety lock is rather awkward and difficult to operate (you press on it and turn it with your thumb or finger -- it has to be aligned just right to allow the blade to be extended or fully closed). Once unlocked, opening the blade and folding the handle into place is a little tricky -- the 2.5" blade is reasonably sharp and you're apt to cut your finger if you're not extremely careful. Once the knife has been opened and folded together properly, the blade isn't well secured and wobbles -- you certainly wouldn't want to try to stab something with it, although it would be OK for slicing open an envelope. I think that even cutting up an apple with it would be a challenge. Because the polypropylene handle has to fold together, the joints or seams between the sections of it are quite thin, which raises a question as to their durability -- although the manufacturer claims it will last through "infinite numbers of folds," I'm skeptical, but time will tell. Lastly, the claims in the brochure that came with the knife are laughable (e.g., "lightweight surgical knife," "great chef's knife"). This is an interesting little gadget, something to show your buddies, but it's not a serious knife. Mine stays in my desk drawer -- I wouldn't consider carrying it. In fact, it's really pretty silly. OTOH, it was only $20.

LOL a gimmick

This "knife" is nothing more than a gimmick. Don't bother. The only thing I can say is - it will cut you if you're not careful.
