I’ve used a spyderco sharpener for years. And was satisfied with the results. I started to collect Knives with in the last five years. And discovered my sharpening skills lacking. I buy a lot from Knife Center. And started to follow David C. Anderson on Utube. I saw an article on how to sharpen knives with a strop, part two by David C. Anderson. I admit I didn’t buy this tool from KC as its still not available. But after reviewing the KC “blog?”with David C. Anderson. I took a chance and bought this. I am not disappointed with my purchase. JRE four sided strop bat

When I finely decided to pull the trigger and get this it disappeared not even JRE had it in stock. Then finely KC had it ordered it received it in two days it is very well made and works IF you know how to use it. I've been sharpening knive / tools since I was about 7-8 yrs old I'm now 61 so I know how to sharpen and strop but there was a slight learning curve early on. If you don't know how there are some excalent how tos on YouTube watch some then jump in. I'm mainly writing this in regards to KC great company and great people so far and I've been dealing with them off and on since they first came on the scene. Great customer service and if you call them they pick up and talk to you. The people are knowledgable and if they don't know or are not sure they will put you in touch with someone who is.

The best strop

David C Anderson walked me through this drill. I didn’t know about stropping. And I’ve often felt there was something missing in the sharpening of my kitchen knifes. This product which is still not available yet via KC. I’ve bought because of his videos. Gave me the edge I was looking for ! Thank you David!

Strop Bat

I carve shore birds from white cedar and use small blade carving knives. These carving knives are extremely sharp and need to be re-sharpened every 20-30 minutes. The four sided strop bat does that quickly and safely.

Sharpen like a Pro

I now can sharpen like a Pro with my Spyderco Sharpmaker and the JLE strop bat, both purchased from the Knife Center. I['m new to collecting Spyderco folders. I began this pass Febuary, My first folder was the Tenacicus I;am at 18. 80% were purchased from the Knife Center. Not all the knives came razor sharp, which how I like them to be. I learned to use my Sharpmaker I was pleased with my results. .I was watching David C Andersen on You Tube He was talking about the benefits of stropping and using the Strop Bat. I ordered the Strop Bat, and watched the Youtube a couple times. The Strop Bat. takes my razor sharp folders and the stropping makes them "scary sharp". I am no expert at sharping but I now can get professional results using the Strop Bat its that easy

Awesome and versatile strop

I wanted to add a strop to my sharpening systems and came across the JRE Industries strop bat on a YouTube video. Well made and extremely versatile. Convenient in that it comes preloaded with compound so you can get going right out of the package. Very stable and simple to use. Still trying to understand which metals benefit and which do not. Touched up a S30V blade to a frightening level of sharpness. Performed very well on CPM-154. Plan on touching up several Elmax and VG10 blades next. Curious to test on convex grinds. Does not seem to do much for lower end stainless or my German X50CRMOV15 kitchen knives and better off stopping when done with a 1200 grit diamond stone. It may be more my technique than the knives. Still learning, always learning.

Great Strop

I've been a knife junkie for many years. I'm always getting a new one. For years I kept telling myself I should try stropping, remembering how my grandfather, who was an old world barber from Sicily,kept his razors so sharp.This strop meets my need perfectly. With the 4 sides and grit it is very versitile. I'm new to stropping and still perfecting my technique but when I get it right my blades come razor sharp. I have some very nice knives I use in the kitchen and I keep them sharp. There is nothing more aggravating than not being able to cut food you're preparing. Since I started stropping they are super sharp. Very happy I chose this one.

High Value Product!!!

The "JRE Strop Bat" is a fantastic tool for sharpening tools and comes at an incredible price. 4 sides(3 pre loaded) allow you to utilize a variety of stropping compound. If you do not care for the stropping compounds it comes with you can simply scrape it off with a razor blade and apply the compound of your choosing.

I’m just learning how to sharpen knives, so take this with a huge grain of salt. It seems to be a good product. I’ve used it 3 times. I couldn’t tell if the knife was any sharper after the first attempt, but I think I had the angle wrong and maybe used too much pressure. The third attempt definitely worked. I didn’t think I could get a pocket knife this sharp.

Just get stones

The pre loaded strop is fine. But as soon as you need to apply more the compound is impossible to work with. Save your money and just get some stones. They will cut faster and get a better edge anyway
