Great Knives
I have taken quite an interest in the mercators, and have several of the k55k and also the k55B (which is considerably more expensive. Both have the same time proven design, and for all practical purposes are equally excellent. It does seem that the brass one has had a little more care taken in the assembly process -- the rivets seem to be set a little better, and the blades are perfectly centered and a little smoother to open and close. The locking mechanism is supposed to be slightly improved, but it's not noticeable -- they all lock up like a vault. Great knives -- but if you are a perfectionist you might prefer the brass one.

This is a great pocket knife. It's the brass handled version of the classic "Cat knife." Very well made and razor sharp out of the package, this thin profile and very sturdy knife if ready for most outdoor adventures and useful for inside work too. It looks classy.
