I own this knife. It is sleek, elegant, and sexy. I have no idea when I will use it, but I don't care. It is beautiful. I can barely keep my adult daughter from stealing it. It is a great addition to any collection.

A great product... just got better!
Ok, so you remember the awesome Ka-Bar tanto knife which seemed like the perfect mix between American & Japanese knife styles (kinda like those American ninja movies back in the 80’s)? Well, aka-Bar nailed it once again, by improving their original tanto design, and changing the angled tip for a more curved edge allowing for a very subtle belly. This, in my opinion offers several advantages: it looks more styled; it offers an improved solution when it comes to skinning & filleting; and I feel it makes the blade more streamlined so that its piercing capabilities ought to be boosted. This, I highly recommend this knife, and I do consider it the best model out there by Ka-Bar yet (pertaining to the standard 7” blades). I think it outperforms all the other 7 inchers and just looks amazing.

If you’re looking for a large carry knife for self protection, look no further. This knife is intimidating and purposeful in its intended use. You cannot beat the price or the quality. The sheath that comes with the knife guarantees the security of the blade. While sheathed, it is virtually I mpossible to dislodge or lose this knife.

Just got this! WOW what a knife. Came very sharp. I think this is one of the best Kabar has made yet! Would love to have one with leather stacked handle an a leather sheath. All knife lovers should have this one!

This is a true very old Japanese blade design!
This is called the Modified Tanto . But if you search for old Japanese designs or even better.. Look for Tanto on Wikipedia. You can find a great pictorial on Japanese Tanto Blade designs and in my view..this Ka Bar has a true Japanese Tanto design. Those people of the older times used them for the real work of defense and Offense. I think Knife Center needs to package their shipments better because the Ka Bar box came looking like they toss them around their warehouse. No, it doesn't hurt the knife one bit, I know. I did email Knife Center directly(not just complain on a review) and they were very friendly and were receptive of my complaint. Very Good!! Thank you!! I really like this knife!
