Best “sharpener” for my CS Mini Recon 1
Open cartons. Keeps me from using Mini Recon 1 thus preserving its virgin edge. This is a “user” not a “beater” because a good beater knife actually calls for TriAd robustness. But with the only stress this is going to see being rocking the blade out of cardboard, I figure the conventional lockback is enough to save my fingers - the retention spring is stronger that Buck, at least, on par with Spyderco. (With limited exceptions like CS and Spyderco, liner locks are altogether off my list.) Don’t worry about the lack of liners - Zytel is decades long proven structurally reinforced nylon. No liners means 2 ounces gets you 3”. D2 suits me because I go long intervals before pro resharpening. If you can do it yourself, go with AUS8 instead.
