perfect fit for the Eskabar

was hesitant at first to order these, as I like the skeletized look of the knife. wrapping it in paracord was a good option, but adding these handle scales makes the fit in my hands that much better. a little slippery on the outside, but overall I'm very pleased with the fit and finish. highly recommended.

Perfect fit

Fitted perfectly and took two minutes to attach (using supplied Allen key). Looks very professional and feels great in the hand.

Great little knife

Sturdy knife with an excellent sheath, I would recommend getting the add-on handle slabs for increased comfort and grip. Good looking steel, thick spine, and a really useful blade shape make this one my outdoor or camping go to.

kbar eskabar knife, sheath, and hand scales

You cannot afford not to buy one of these. The knife is tough as nails, sharp as a razor, and the serrated part of the blade cuts through fibrous material with almost no effort on your part. The sheath holds the knife securly upside down but comes out smoothly with a tug on the handle. The hand scales greatly improve the grip on the knife, but you have to sacrifice some concealed carry thickness under a shirt. I have been carrying this knife for a few weeks now and it does heavy duty jobs much easier than a pocket knife.

Thay fit the izula

There's no info out there as to if thay fit the esee izula so I took a chance and well thay fit perfectly with modification to the knife or scales however you will need to put a small notch in the opening of the factory esee sheath

Too Inexpensive Not to Buy

Installed on my Eskabar to give me a better grip. Already have a BK11 when I want to carry with a slimmer profile. Only improvement would be some serrations or stippling for a better grip.

Surprisingly Comfortable and Well Priced

Bought the Eskabar a year ago and modded an Izula micarta handle to fit. When I ordered the new D'Eskabar- the Eskabar in D2 steel, I picked these up as well. Turned out it was a good news- bad news situation. Surprisingly, the scales did not fit the D'Eskabar. On closer examination, I saw that the cutouts (presumably made by waterjet) in the D2 version are much more angled than the 1095 version- ie the holes are slightly larger on one side than the other. Fortunately, I was able to take the Izula scales and fit them to the D'Eskabar, and put the Becker scales on my orginal. (I assume I could also have modded Becker scales to fit the D'Eskabar with a Dremel, but didn't bother once I saw the Izula scales simply snapped in place.) Once attached, I was quite please with their comfort and ergonomics. Bottom line, these are a great buy for the Eskabar, but don't expect them to fit the D'Eskabar out of the box.

Needs a hex-key!

These things are, in my opinion, necessary when you decide to buy the Eskabar. They're definitely much easier on the wallet when compared to the micarta scales for the Becker Necker. My main complaint, and I gather it's a common one, is the lack of a hex-key included with the hardware. After a heated fifteen minute search for one in my tool collection failed to produce results I discovered that the smaller flat-head portion on my Gerber Shard will fit in there and get it tight. Not the end of the world but a bit of a headache when all you want to do is tool up your new blade and try it out.
