Great everyday knife Acceptable quality and sharpness retention Very light Corrosion resistant Optional handles Plastic sheath has safe locking function Very economical cost Fits hand well Strong
Just received mine in the mail, and let me just say, the shipping was fast! Made it cross-country in 3 days despite the Thanksgiving holiday. This knife was sharp out of the box, and is the perfect size to carry all day. The sheath is also nice, has stayed secure thus far, so no issues here. If you're thinking about it, just buy it, can't beat the price and you will be satisfied.
I've used this knife sparingly, but it has a solid feel to it. I keep it handy, around my neck. It is sharp, out of the box, with a perfectly acceptable sheath.
What a great little knife. For $ 25.95 it cant be beat. Get the handles too .As for the sheath found it to be very functional and has a lot of carry options with the T.D.I clip. I have not had it long enough to see if it dulls the blade. There was no rattle in it either. So for right now I wont upgrade to kydex. You also need a t-6 torx bit to install T.D.I. clip. The benchmade blue box is a huge help at this! This was the sharpest ka-bar I have ever owned, out of the box. This is a Home run!!! Great job knife center.
This is not a review of this particular knife but I have this same one in plain edge and it's fantastic. It's got a great handle, good sheath, larger blade than an Izula, and now a combo blade! Will be purchasing this one and providing a follow up review once it is in hand! Thank you KC.
I carry a BK11 on my belt in the back in a horizontal sheath. I keep the Eskabar knife in briefcase or small sling bag I carry with me. I installed the black grips from orange/black handlle set. This is an excellent merging of two great knives and give the Necker a little more space to grab hold of. Also like the serrated blade. My Necker doesn't have them an its a plus in case I have to cut rope or cord. Nice thing about having both knives is you can set one sheath up of horizontal carry with para-cord and have one set up for vertical carry. Great buy.
This is a good practical tool for your bug out kit. Good solid construction. Very sharp, right out of the box. For the money, one of the best buys out there. I really like that it is made in the U.S. as well. It's really not a big deal, but I would have liked a little better sheath.
Bought it as a boot knife for my father, after looking at it, it is a good looking knife, sharp out of the box, came with a snug fitting kydex sheathe that doesn't rattle at all, and a length of paracord if you want to wrap it. All in all a good little blade that he's very happy with.
Very good quality at an awesome price!!! I've been using this daily..Holds an edge extremely well. I do a lot of bushcrafting and I'm not easy on my blades! This bk14 has taken everything I've given it! Great product, excellent price and quick shipping... A++ . I will definitely be doing more business with Knifecenter!
I own the Eskabar, the D'Eskabar, and now 2 Eskabar's with the serrated combo edge. I carry one or two of them daily. The BK14 has a powder coat finish. The D2 version has no finish and the BK14SG has a slick flat black finish. The BK14 doesn't rattle in the sheath. The other two models do. Retention levels vary from sheath to sheath but the coating seems to have some affect on retention. All of them came to me razor sharp. The available coatings seem to be on par with the Ka-Bar Neck Knife, which I took into the ocean without any resulting rust. Great value for anyone wanting a EDC knife. Buy the scales if you have bigger hands. P.S. I cannot find the BK14SG anywhere on the interwebs other than KNIFECENTER. Not even on Ka-Bar's website.
I was delighted when Knifecenter offered this excellent BKT-KABAR RAT knife by Esee at a very attractive price. I had wanted to add a RAT knife to my collection and the Esee design is exactly what I wanted. KABAR knives executes the design flawlessly and there was enough paracoard shipped with the knife to make a perfect paracoard handle wrap with plenty left over to suspend the knife around the neck. Dispite the diminunative size of this knife, it is almost a full millimeter thick at the spine. Given the broad belly of the design this knife is ideal for everyday cutting chores as well as last-ditch defense. The included Kydex sheath provides a secure mode of carry and the knife locks in positively with an audible click. All in all, I would give the BKT-KABAR RAT Esse 9.5 on a scale of 1 to 10 only because of a small flaw in the finish which I covered with cold blue. Would I buy this knife again or reccomend it to a friend? Absolutely! One could drop me into the deepest darkest forest and I would feel well equipped.
The Becker Eskabar BK14SG is exactly what you would expect. Compact and well designed with a simple but study plastic sheath. I have not had it long enough to put the edge to the test other than opening a few boxes but I believe it will hold it edge as well or better than similar blades. The handle is a bit small and does not provide a great grip unwrapped but the knife comes with a length of black 550 paracord. After wrapping the handle and tying the cord off into a wrist lanyard the grip is very comfortable and secure. Overall a very solid knife and excellent for the money.
Great blade Great price It's marketed as a neck knife, so no clip on sheath, but a couple of holes and a Tek Lok mounts nicely. Micarta scales are a must if you have large hands
