Excellent knife

The bK15 is absolutely amazing for the price. The handles don't have any hot spots and it comes with a nice working edge from the factory. My only complaint would be the second snap on the sheath. Re sheathing the knife and having to close both snaps is a minor inconvenience.

Closest thing to a lightsaber!

This is just about the sharpest out of the box knife that I've ever had. It glides through paper effortlessly and zips through cardboard. The handle scales it arrived with fit pretty well - the spares, not so much, and both are smooth with no texturing at all. The coating is rough and the first thing I did was strip it. There's a fairly nice stonewash finish underneath. The sheath is adequate for its intended purpose but it does rattle. I made a IWB kydex sheath for it. This is my perfect light, sharp, not too large, not too small EDC carry fixed blade. You can't go wrong with it. Think of it as a poormans Spyderco Southfork.

Steal this for this price.

For this price (the sale of $43), this knife can't be beat. If you are looking for a small/medium sized fixed blade with a decent steel, this knife is the buy for your. I don't like the black, but that was stripped easily. It's great now, truly great. Pros: Sharp, nice steel for price, light yet sturdy. Cons: Slippery handle (can be fixed by filing small grooves to your liking), sheath is just okay.

Love it EXCELLENT !!!!

I use it for Hunting, camping and wilderness survival. Blade and sheath are excellent . Handle shoud have more steel looks like it might break.

Great medium sized blade

This knife is great, and it's sexy. I could do without the black, but that's why I removed that. It's easy to sharpen, it was easy to strip, it's easy to clean. The handles and sheath could be better, but at this sale price I came back and bought 3 more. Came very sharp, able to make even sharper. This is a good knife, and it comes at a great price.

Well made and intellegently designed -- an excelent value

I use this product in the outdoors (ie. camping, skinning, carving, bush craft). The geometry works well on most slicing and carving tasks however the coating causes a bit of friction at times and the beveled spine is not ideal for batoning (which is not a problem for me because this is not why I purchased the knife). The factory edge comes decently sharp, the handle fits very well on a medium to medium large sized hand, the handle has a nice fit, the handles have nice friction, the blade is balanced decently well, and the vibrational node ("sweet spot") is well placed on the blade. The knife is not perfect but I doubt a better deal for this price exists.

Take this knife with me every where. Has been with me to Afghanistan twice, and will go back in a heart beat. Also goes with me on every hiking/camping trip. Wife always snags it, guess I better get another one. Thanks KnifeCenter.

a nice big knife

I was expecting a good knife from ka-bar and I was not disappointed. This is a good heavy weight knife that I will take to the woods to cut and chop at this and that. The problem with this knife is that the handle is too smooth. This handle will become slippery when wet, so I covered it with a piece of bicycle tube. That modification makes it difficult for the snaps on the sheath to close, but they may loosen up in time. The carbon steel blade will be good to sharpen and keep sharp. The sheath is not going to win awards, but it is ok and has a nice pocket. I like my ka-bar Marine Combat knife better, but I am happy with this purchase.

decent with work

I bought the knife as an extra to go in an emergency kit .The sheath is ok but nothing extra. However it is one of the better nylon/plastic lined sheaths out there. The steel is in my opinion one of the better ones for an all around knife that would be called on to preform multiple tasks. The design is also a good choice for the purpose. The biggest downfall of the knife is the finish. If all one intends to do with it is cut rope and process wood it is fine .However if it will be called on to prepare food it truely sucks .The rough finish is difficult to clean and drags when the knife is used for slicing be it animal or plant If companies insist on using it. It should be an option not a standard feature.While the very rough finish can be removed or smoothed out with sandpaper it is in my opinion an unnecessary annoyance .The edge on my particular one was another downside .while it was reasonably sharp it was very rough with very noticible grinding marks

Great Knife

Christmas present for my son and he's going to flip. He's been asking for a Ka-bar for a while. This is going to make a great utility knife for his camping gear. Wish it had a kydex sheath.

A steal for less than 45 dollars

This is a beautiful light duty knife. Great for cleaning game, preparing foods or gutting fish. The only thing I don't care for is the handle texture. Fits nice in the hand though. If you want a great hunting knife and your not wanting to spend a lot this is a great knife to consider.

The straps on the sheath are very tight, I would have like it to been heavy Leather. I'm thinking about changing the handle to wood
