Love it.

The sheath could be better, but is adequate. The knife itself is perfect and just what I wanted.

Bad To The Bone

Sharper and much tougher than I imagined. It has a forward weight distribution making it a most venerable chopper and trailblazer. I'm going to change the scales to G10. The scales are sold by Ka-Bar for $55.00, plus 8 bucks shipping. The blade shape, sharpness, forward thrust and recovery is outstanding. This is a pleasure in the field. It's great against our rouge pitbull and coydogs. I'm offering a 5 but should deduct a star for the slippery factory handle. However, I can't see deducting 20% of the score. This is a REAL professional tool. Use it wisely. I made short order of a foot thick log in a snowstorm today.

Fun Chopper

Beautiful new toy for the collection! Lots of forward weight that makes chopping and splitting nice. Sharp enough to use the heal of the blade for feathering. This is a unique and well designed tool in my opinion!

It's a hatchet that identifies as a knife

This blade is an absolute beast of a chopper, but it'll do more. Once you get over the weird forward balance (which is of course a feature, not a bug) it will make short work of splitting, de-limbing, etc. and for such tasks I prefer it to a hatchet. It's not as good as a machete for clearing light brush, but it'll do it. It's not as good at whittling or fire-prep as a small bushcraft knife, but it'll do it. For chopping small saplings or bamboo, however, I don't think a better tool exists. The thick profile and soft steel make it as durable as you could want, and easy to sharpen with most any method. It came sharper than it needs to be (not that I'm complaining). I've seen many complaints about the sheath, but for my purposes it's just fine; this is not a practical tool to wear on your belt, in my opinion. You just need something to cover the edge, and it does that. I will complain about the stock handles, though. While the ergonomics are darn-near perfect in my hand, the plastic is smooth and it would *really* give me pause if I were swinging it with sweaty hands (which is normally the case). The optional Micarta handles are a necessity in my opinion, and should be included as standard. I do not use or recommend a lanyard with this blade. I think doing so would only ensure that it finds your leg (or worse!) should you lose control, and I shudder to think of the damage that would do. I simply make sure nobody is in front of me when it's in use. Get one and I don't think you'll regret it.

Excellent Kukri!

This is one of the best Kukri style knives I have ever used! This was a must have for me, being a Becker Fanatic. The three star reviews for this don't even make sense, so don't let them stop you from buying this amazing kukri. As with all Beckers, I replaced the grips with micarta. No big deal. The sheath is not great, but it will get the job done for most people. Thanks Ethan, Hank, and KA-BAR!

Beautifully Crafted Blade

I absolutely love this Kurki, KA BAR /Becker designed thos perfectly. I have not had the chance yet to use it, but I will on my next camping trip. It fits perfectly in your hand , the blade was sharp right out of the box. If I had any cons it would just be I wish the handle had some texture to it and the sheath is not fabulous. But all easy fixes. If you're outdoors alot you'll love this blade.

BK 21 a must have khukuri for all

The BK 21 does it all from clearing camp site to camp blade. Forward weight gives good power and flow thru. Edge came extra sharp and maintained itself clearing grapevines and green briars. It is extremely well made and affordable and should be in every BOB as it is also more then a tool. Just ask the Gurka!!!

A Proper Kukuri

This is a greet all purpose kukuri. I was able to easily shave the hairs off the back of my hand. You really can not do better with a 20 degree cutting angle which is the correct angle for an all purpose design. Very good steel l but it rusts. Going out there be sure to bring a rag and anti rust oil and wipe down after each use. Sap is very corrosive. Down sides: as others have noted the handle can be slick with wet hands/oils. If an issue wrap handle with friction tape or the optional micarta handles. I wish the sheath were kydex as it is not as quality as the knife.

Amazing

I am FAIRLY new to the kukri community, but I have had 2 Cold Steel kukris. This is FAR superior. I love the weight/balance of it. So far, it has been a beast for chopping and splitting, but still isn't too heavy or thick like most of the expensive traditional kukris. I actually ended up buying a second one for my wife!

Get it before it's gone

Quite the handy chopper. Like every other Kabar I've ever purchased, the grind on the tip is off kilter and requires a touch up. But otherwise happy with this purchase, especially at the promo price

Becker/Reinhardt Kukri

It is unfortunate that,of all the knives I have purchased from KnifeCenter, this is the first time I have been asked to write a review. The elegant, sweeping and weight forward blade design of the BK21 appears to lend itself to chopping and firecraft functions, which was my intent with the purchase. I am however, unqualified to post a practical review. Being a senior (70+) citizen, I found the knife to be somewhat overwhelming. The weight was a bit too much for my arthritic wrist and the nylon handle slippery for my weakened grip, even with a lanyard. I would hate to give the impression that this is not a fantastic tool due to my own physical shortcomings. If I were 20 years younger the Bk21 would be magnificent.

Needs work

Factory edge is not what I was hoping for. The edge geometry is a let down but fixable. The handles are slippery in the hand but comfortable. The sheath is nothing more than it needs but it’s lack of quality is obviously meant to keep the cost down. That being said I think this item is still overpriced.

Not all its cut out to be!

Although the BK21 isnot a bad chopper, its not anything like the craz and hype everyones boosting about online. Got mine in the mail yesterday and took it out to the woods today (fatherdays) put it up against the Kershaw camp 10, ontario kukri (my favorite for the last year, though with my own grind on the blade) the cold steel sk5 kukri, ka-bar parangatang and the kershaw camp 18. If you want a real chopper, try the paramgatang and also for the cost, give the camp 10 a swing, you wont regret it. The kershaw camp 10 now rides on my hip, and the parangatang will be riding on my backpack after i get done making a kydex sheath for it, coz the sheath it comes with SUCKS BIG TIME! And so does the sheath that comes with the BK21... Good luck in your search for the holy grail of a woodmans blade, like myself, the searxh goes on, but for now my new companions are the kershaw camp 10 amd tje ka-bar parangatang

Awkward

Tip heavy with poor balance Small slippery grip Basic nylon sheath with marginal belt loop Ka-Bar sells a better sheath ($60) and less slippery grip ($40). I’m surprised that they don’t offer sized grips since they’re bolt-on. I wouldn’t buy it again.

Meh

Good but edge needed belt grinder work done to it...about 5 minutes worth on the 2x72 until I was happy with it. Overly thick bte and a very crappy edge made for chopping bricks maybe. The overall design is good if you like sharpening and tinkering. Handles are very slippery also, had to use rubber bands to create grip.
