The soap lathers very well and I never used any shaving cream that form a marriage with the blade and glide through my heavy beard. I use to shave once with the grain and once against the grain. I now shave pretty much shave against the grain to get a real close shave. The only fault I have with it is the fragrance is a little too strong for my liking, although not unpleasant.

Great shaving soap

Product exactly as described. Did not find scent overpowering, instead a light, fresh smell. Excellent shaving soap and perfect lather. Well worth the price.

This was the first quality shaving soap I've ever tried. Lathers great, smooth shave, great scent. I have others but keep coming back to this.

This is a great product

I have purchased several of these and I just love them. They seem to last me almost a year each (even shaving 2-3 times every day). I highly recommend these to everyone who is looking for an alternative to expensive canisters that don't even last a month. These provide a nice very close and smooth shave (I use a Merkur safety razor). I can't think of a single thing to complain about this product.
