Cons: Handle Material, Weight

Tiny but Fierce!

I've always thought the Spyderco Ladybug was cool, but could never bring myself to drop $50 for what's mostly a keychain accessory. The Lander 6 delivers almost the same experience for $15 and I have no complaints. The action is a little unusual - there is no half-stop, but because of the way it's sprung it's almost like there is. Lockup is solid - zero play in any direction, and while it's roughly the size of a Victorinox SD Classic (the keychain Swiss Army Knife) the handle is markedly ergonomic and the blade much broader and aggressively ground. This thing really DOES cut like a knife twice it's size. The only real compromise here is it's only 4116 steel, but as Cold Steel has proven, properly heat treated 4116 can be VERY respectable indeed. I've found edge retention to be comparable to good 420HC (think Kershaw Chive and Scallion) and even most Chinese 8Cr. Quite a lot better than Victorinox SAK stainless or 440A. The broader profile and better grip also aid sharpenability a great deal and as you'd expect for 4116, it sharpens up quick. If you're not sure if keychain knives are for you and don't want to spend big bucks until you try one, this is your ticket. Small and lightweight, but entirely usable for just $15. You can't go wrong.

Very small and light

Smaller than the tiny Case Blackhorn. Weighs nothing. Not a pry bar. A true keychain knife. Comes with small ring. Think the SAK Classic's blade, but locking. For cutting string and opening envelopes. The knife you use because you did not leave it at home.

Smaller than the Case Blackhorn

A tiny keychain locking knife. Or spend less on the lockback Ontario Camp EDC.
