Scary sharp

I received this in 2 days after purchase. I was looking for a bird knife style that would be durable yet not break the bank. Have not put to hard use yet, and primarily wanted this for fishing and hunting. Out of the box this thing is scary sharp. I wouldnt run it down your arm. Paper test was ridiculous. Went through phone book and standard paper like it was air. Very easy to make paper curls. Leather sheath is goor to great. Fits over a reinforced 1 1/2 inch pistol belt no problem. The handle is fairly small and i have small hands, wear a small medium glove. But i knew this getting it, i wanted smaller than a fillet or bait knife but a lil bigger than a traditional skinner. I think this will excep on the coast while fishing and also small enough to allow control when skinning. Wheter for bait or fillet, it will do its job. Not overly flexible blade, hardly any flex. Not sure how sharpening will be yet but should be a while before it needs it. All in all im pretty happy with it and can find no flaws as of yet. I would buy it again in a second.

good but could be better

Just received this knife as a gift and at first impression I was kinda disappointed since it was a Ken onion limited edition. The handle has a small gap with what appears to be white caulk as filler and the knife is a little hard to grab from the sheath because it swallows the whole handle. But the more I played with it the more I liked the design and blade shape. It came as sharp as any knife I've gotten so hopefully it stays that way for a while. I'll give it a good workout during waterfowl season cleaning birds so we will see how it holds up. Oh last thing is the handles are sanded to almost too smooth of a texture. I can see this getting slick when it's covered in blood.

Great Knife, Poor Sheath

Got the Ken Onion knife and it was perfect. Razor sharp and clean lines. Feathered several pieces of paper for fun and could see how it would be effective on any cleaning, skinning, hunting meat job. The sheath was kind of "meh" but looked solid. I was a little worried about the two rivets at the bottom of sheath. I wondered if they might somehow come in contact with the tip and dull it. I put the knife in the sheath and set it aside for several days. When I took it out again to examine the knife again, the very tip of the blade had broken off. WHAT!!!!!!!!??????? So yeah, I was right to worry. I didn't put the knife in overly aggressively or hard at all. Somehow the tip DID hit the rivet and snapped about 1/8" off the tip disfiguring the look of the blade. I am sure it is still functional but what a major disappointment in this knife.
