Super Little Manual OTF!

I have had this only about a week but have carried everyday and used it a bunch. First, it is tiny, so double check it is the size you want before you order. Super sharp out of the box and fit and finish that would suit a more expensive knife. Note that when I first got it the blade slide was super stiff and I could barely retract it using one hand. However, a drop of Teflon oil on each internal slide fixed that, although I was wiping oil off the blade for the next day or so. But, it works perfect now and slides easily. It also makes a great fiddling toy at my desk while making almost no noise to annoy my coworkers like a flipper or assisted. Unique, inexpensive and cool looking! I want Kershaw to start a who line of knives like this one.

Needs work out of the box, but neat.

This is a cute, handy little knife. I use it when I'm doing paracord projects or I want something smaller in the pocket. First off, the factory edge is not great. Barely paper cutting with a sawing motion. Sharpening is not very easy on the factory blade, either, as it lacks a sharpening choice so the bottom 1/8 of the blade is hard to get to. My solution was to simple dremel out the curved portion at the base of the blade and create my own sharpening choil. After that, it was easy to get it to hair-popping sharpness. The metal itself seems to hold an edge OK against light daily use - I've cut a lot of paracord and it doesn't seem to need a touch up yet. Finally, the button issue - it's easy to disassemble the knife and apply some loctite to the button screw and not have to worry about it later on. The opening action is stiff at first - some lube and fidgeting gets it smoother and easier to handle. So, QC and minor design issues aside, it's a cute little knife if you know what you're getting into.

Meh

Wife gift: edc Blue button fell off. I like the concept, it needs to be at the next level of refinement and durability design. Manual OTF knives are great for beginners and it would be nice to have a sturdy lock-out. GO KAI!

If you plan to carry daily.

If you don't own 2 T6 drivers? Move on. Dismantle, remove fidgety button retaining screw and apply some kind of thread lock. Re-assemble. Flip blade over if you carry left :)

Blade had a notch on the cutting edge and hard to close.

I bought the knife as a gift for someone who doesn't carry a knife. First thing I notice is it is hard to open if you lock it as pushing the button pushes it against the slide and it isn't so easy to slide. I used Rem oil as it is made for stainless to slide against stainless and it helped immensely, but still a bit stiff that should go away with use, that's half a star. A star and a half is the cutting edge was rather dull, no big deal, but it had two notches on the edge I had to use my diamond stone to eat up some of the edge and there isn't a lot of edge to go before it gets too thick to easily sharpen. Kind of a big deal when you hand sharpen. I might re-profile the blade later on my wet grinder when it goes dull and it didn't feel very hard sharpening it on an Arkansas stone. Pocket clip will be more useful for a key ring than that thin plastic hole that is supposed to be for a key ring. You know I'm not too happy giving it three stars, two.

Pretty cheap.

I surely wasn’t expecting an Excocet but for 35 bucks it certainly could have been better.First was the condition of the blade.Looks like someone put it to an axe grinder.Second was the slide.To get the blade to retract you have to have an acrobatic thumb.What really irked me was a screw that was stripped out from the factory,no doubt as I just set my driver in the screw it fell out.Am I to critical on a 35$ novelty? Yes. Another chalk it up experience.

Half-star below "meh"

Dull blade. Thick stock that's difficult to get a trustworthy edge on. The point is difficult to sharpen so can't even promise that it'll make a good poking/ stabbing deterrent. Deploys alright after liberal application of Benchmade's Blue Lube, but doesn't want to close without a gentle pinch-push back on the blade to aid retraction. Surprisingly heavy for it's small size. Clip left rust on my wife's running pack. Just ordered the Boker Slike as a replacement for this. Longer blade, better steel, lighter weight? Seems a win for sure. This? A waste of $35.

Update to previous review -- now one star!

A few weeks after I got this, I gave it a 5 star review. Last week, I was carrying it while walking in the woods, pulled it out to use it, and the blue button popped right off. When I got it home, it looked like a tiny screw fell out, but that is lost forever somewhere in the leaves. There is no excuse for such poor quality from a company like Kershaw. Now it is useless junk. One star it too generous.
