Kershaw ONE TONE FOLDER

i USE THE one tone kershaw as my EDC and i also rotate it with other folder. The Kershaw One Tone folder is a great Big Fat bladed folder. If you don't like FAT BLADES DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING THIS FOLDER AS IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL FAT BLADE SPEAR POINT BLADE ON IT. i ALSO OWN A ZT 0300/0350/0551 and this One Tone reminds me of my ZT 0300 just smaller and lighter. Its a great knive the One Tone Buy it today.

Unbelievable for the price!!!

Excellent quality knife for such a low price. I was shocked at its sharpness and durability (folder wise) and I own numerous expensive knives. You will not be disappointed at all. Easy to carry in pants pocket and very sturdy.

STRONG LIKE BEAR

This is a great knife for a big Guy with big hands. No sloppy design or construction. The Frame Lock is very positive and the feel of the G-ten scale on the one side is very good. The One Ton looks and feels like a knife three or four times the price. Like its little cousin the Kershaw Salvo, the One Ton is a first class knife in all respects.

I must admit that I have a soft spot for straight up frame lock knives. They are an advancement on the liner lock both technically and esthetically. Please, I would not kick dirt on the liner lock, it is a fine system, but the frame lock is a natural progression in the craft of modern knife making. Next up I would mention the G-10 material used in the Kershaw One Ton. Not the fact that it was used but how it was used, as a structural part rather that just a scale. The fact that this knife is built like a pipe wrench is not its main attraction. It is its innovative combination of materials, the choice to go wide and flat instead if thin and pointy and to make it simple with no real contrived attitude. If you want to spread mayo on you cheese sandwitch or you just want to dress down a bull moose in the Canadian Rockies you got what it takes . Just watch you fingers.

Great knife !

This knife is sharp out of the box and the framelock is great ! It's plenty strong for the construction work I do . It opens fine and locks firmly . I like that it has steel on the framelock side and G10 on the other . It keeps the knife thin enough to be put in the pocket and still be comfortable . This isnt a tac knife or assited opening knife . It's a work knife for guys that work .This is a mans knife for sure ! Your wife or daughter wont like it

Thin but Beefy

This knife is really thin, but it doesn't feel like it. Out of the box it was razor sharp. It flicks open with ease. It rides very flat in the pocket. I can finally carry a good size knife in dress clothing.

This is a great EDC for sure.Nice big blade great for cutting and everyday use.Some might smaller blades for EDC but i like a big fat blade.It opens one handed very easy and has medium grip G10

Difficult to open @ first. Very sharp but scary sharp w/ only few passes on diamond rod. Large flat handle. May have to tweek it to make more ergonomic. Love the price

Good knife for anyone who needs a kick-around knife with a large blade. Carries fairly unobtrusively in jeans pocket. Good knife for the money if you need a LARGE knife, which I do. Also extremely sharp from the factory, be aware the first time you open it. Frame lock seems solid.

Very Good Heavy Duty Knife.

I bought this knife after having it's little brother the Half Ton. This is a big brawny knife that is very well made. For it's price I thinks it's the best bargain out there. It easily rival knives twice the price. The fit and finish are as good as good as other companies knives made in china. If your looking for a bargain in a heavy duty EDC I'd recommend this a too you.

A Good Knife

Okay, there are a lot of negative comments about this knife. First off, it IS a good knife for $20, or perhaps more. Mass produced, imported knives don't all come out the same. Mine is nearly perfect, but yours may not be...that's an industry standard. The one-sided G-10 scale is grippy, but not pants-shredding. The frame lock is well-fitted and tight. No complaints on the lock-up here. Mine came razor sharp, but was easily made hair-popping sharp. Understand this is 8Cr13Mov steel. It takes a good edge, but will require routine maintenance, which is luckily easy. Yes, cardboard will dull the blade, as well as all other steels in this range. It's not ZDP-189, so don't expect it to perform as such. Mine came with a nice even grind, and after a little oiling and break-in will flip out nicely with a flick of the wrist while nudging the thumb stud. The choil and jimping are comfortable and useful, and contribute to the knife's comfortable grip. Mine also came with a perfectly centered blade. It carries well with a thin profile, allowing tip up or down, right hand only (sorry lefties). As expected, the washers are nylon, but perform well with adequate lubrication. There is a lanyard hole available in the tip up position, but it could stand to be a bit bigger. That's really the only complaint I have about this knife; although a deep-carry pocket clip would also be nice. Overall, I believe $20 for this knife is a great deal. It's a user and a good one. Keep it sharpened and lubed, and you won't be disappointed.

Great for the Money

This knife is a very quality product (Like most of kershaws knives) and for the money you wont find much better. A great blade design and geometry make for a very useful tool for E.D.C (Every day carry) tasks. It is a 8cr13Mov steel blade which is a decent steel. Every thing is great about this knife besides the deployment, im hoping it will loosen up over time and use, if not just loosen the pivot screw. Also closing the knife is less than comfortable because of the VERY stiff framelock. The ergonomics are not for every one, the knife is very thin, i should say the handles are thin. not cheaply thin but just uncomfortable. In the end there are better options but every knife has charcter and this one of many.

poor quality

after a few weeks of use the pocket clip became very lose I have had to tighten it 5 times since I bought it (December 2012). the blade came fairly dull and does not keep an edge very well at all. the knife feels very bulky in the hand and uncomfortable.

Right Ad?

Thought I'd really like this one, and I would have if it did indeed have G-10 handles. It has ONE G-10 scale and a frame-lock on the clip side. I absolutely hate framelock designs, they don't even look like they're done at the factory. I know that is a personal issue, and there are tons of good framelocks out there, just not for me. P.S: I've been duped several times now, thinking I'm ordering a linerlock, and being shipped a framelock, all because the ad was not correct.

Misled

I ordered this one to match the 3/4 ton I have from Kershaw. I did not see or realize that this model is a frame lock. As advertised, it states this model has G-10 ScaleSSSS - not "scale". And I despise frame lock designs - they will never look "finished" to me. The quality is of course present, I just don't like the design - sad for me, as the Danes are doing such beautiful work with frame-locks! I returned this one and will order the large Espada from Cold Steel to replace it!!! Just got my first Espada and am very impressed with it and with Cold Steel!! Classy knives! Kershaw has a slew of winners too, and I own at least 10+ of their models now.

Disappointment

I agree with Stitch. Don't like this knife even "for the money". It only has the grip on one side and the grip on mine is different than the one pictured above. Mine is perfectly flat and does not have that nice contour that is shown. This is a big knife but it is only about a quarter of an inch thick!!! It is uncomfortable in my hand and impossible to close with one hand because of the frame lock configuration. One side has the grip attached and the other side nothing but the clip. If it wasn't for the clip which I don't use anyway, it would be even harder to open with one hand. Yes it is sharp and it does lock up tight but difficult. However if I saw this knife in person first I would not have bought it and if I saw that flat grip on one side I definately would not have bought it. It would be nice if there were more views of this knife on the website especially if it is going to come with different grips than what is shown. It will probably end up on some garage sale table hoping to get maybe ten bucks for it. Sorry I bought it.

1 Ton? Ton of What?

I work in a warehouse and I love the outdoors so i wanted a beefy folder for both work and play. This was a poor choice. I dropped the knife in the warehouse, from my pocket to the concrete slab and the pin used to flick it open came off and one of bottom pins that holds the handle together is missing as well. Cardboard kills the edge....Aghhhh! Don't do it. Its also made in CHINA...
