Kershaw Scallion
This is the perfect edc! The assisted flip makes this knife really fun to pull out to use. Blade came sharp as razor, no exaggeration. I’m very pleased with this model from Kershaw !
I live in northwestern Montana. I carry this knife everyday for a using blade. From cutting hay twine to gutting a deer, ear notching livestock to castrating calves, This knife is extremely useful. I have the plain blade, no serrations, as the serrated edge is likely to eat up finger skin for delicate work and I carry a multi-tool as well. Several strops on the crock sticks and it is shaving sharp.` When roping or team roping I carry a fully serrated blade but all other times I carry this knife. Vest pocket.....Perfect fit...Jacket chest pocket clips right in. Mine is AUS 08 steel, older model and still going strong. I have lost several of the smaller scale retaining screws over time and need to get replacements with a bit to fit; or, return the knife to Kershaw for a refurbishing, however, i don't want to use a different blade in the meanwhile. At the price I should have a couple on hand.
Started buying Ken's designs almost as soon as the assisted opening models debuted..Have had all three..The leek, scallion, chive in different finishes..stainless,bead blast,an the rainbow ..I forget what that finish is called , but do know it's the most delicate of the bunch.Wife an daughter bought me a leek in rainbow for bday an I use as a dress carry..The leek being the slimmest of the line. The straight edge an thin blade of the leek would be a great fighting blade, but not really good for straight up daily carry..Also loved my lil chive in all stainless cuz of it's blade shape an it's size makes it too small an hard to hang on to ,but is a unnoticeable carry..This all being said..The Sweet in middle is the scallion...I know carry this blasted olive that's amazing..Having a blade twice as thick as a leek , it feels like a tank side by side an will allow abuse the other won't..Just the right compromise of handle, blade shape an bullet proof finish..I do general contracting an have put this series to the test..Last word..Get one..
