Best EDC I have

I have several Kershaw/Buck knives I rotate as EDC... that was until I got this. Hands down the best, light weight... great steel and edge. You won't be disappointed.

kershaw 1678 Camber knife

I recently purchased a Kershaw 1678 Camber assisted opening knife. I have made fixed blade knives for nearly 60 years, so, I know my way around knives. The features of this knife are excellent. It is suited to someone with medium or small hands, as the handle is 41/4" long. The blade deploys easily with the flipper, and locks up solidly with no side play. The pocket clip is deep carry, and holds securely. The cutting edge was not particularly sharp from the factory, but a good whetstone easily solves that problem, so, I will not list that as a con. S30V is premium grade steel.

Great Knife

Very good quality. Fast opener. Solid Linerlock. Good steel S30V and very sharp. Handle material with the inlays are very well made. Stonewashfinish is also very nice. Deep pocket clip. All in all great knife and not too big. Good for EDC. Made in USA!

Perfect EDC - even for an office setting

Was set to buy a Spyderco PM2, but I ended up getting this. Everyone's office is different but I found this to be the perfect edc blade for me and I work in a law firm. I have medium sized hands and I didn't want to go any smaller than this (tried a few and not enough purchase on the handle). Love the opening mechanism and the blade. Love that the clip is deep carry and small (and black) as the black blends in with any dark slacks that I wear. Took it camping this weekend and the blade does excellent at whittling tree branches. I'm not a big knife guy (yet - I've heard it can be addicting) overall this knife fits my needs well.

One of my favorite EDC folders

This is a very nice rugged reliable edc folder, that I use often in my rotation, bought it to have a great steel blade for harder use (be nicer to my expensive knives)I use it to cut zip ties, feed bags, whittle some wood, boxes, packages, vinyl, plastics, scribe kydex, decap cigars ect. Lock up is solid with no play in any direction, mine does NOT unlock with any grip unless I purposely manipulate my hand to do so while gripping. Takes a wicked edge with some patience, (seems harder then BM s30v to me) and holds it as it should for s30v. I have no chipping of edge thus far in my use. And has joined my buck vantage pro for rough edc use. The rubber inset on handle is perfect for me, one draw back is it is really for right hand users due to rubber on handle(pocket clip sits on the rubber if switched to leafy hand use)But I'm right handed so take it into account. It is a tad small for real big hands imo, but handle is broad enough to help make up for it, the speed safe has been reliable for a year now, I like it enough I bought a second one, and proudly rests in the safe with my "much" better err cost more anyways blades and the best part made in the USA, for me at least.

I love it

I own many high quality knives and can say honestly that this is one of my favorite. I keep it in my kitchen drawer and it is my go to for anything that needs cutting around the house. Smooth opening and sharp as hell! Easy to resharpen as well. Love the S30V steel. For this price, you simply cannot beat the fit and finish of this blade.

Fixes my criticisms of the 1670S30V Blur. Still a too big for my EDC

I need to give you a little history for this review to be of any value. A couple of years ago, before I knew any better, I bought a Kershaw Cryo 1551Ti. I liked the size and the flipper, but disliked the frame-lock. Reading up on the subject I created a shortlist for a better knife and bought a 1670S30V Blur. This is a beautiful knife to hold and use, but I missed the flipper, the clip is too long and finishes on a piece if trak-tek insert (which makes it very difficult to put back in your pocket). I came to love the thumb-stud but the knife is too big for an EDC in an office environment. I bought a Doug Ritter Mini-Griptilian for everyday use, but dislike the plastic handles. Then Kershaw introduced the 1678S30V Whirlwind which has a smaller blade, a flipper, a smaller clip and better positioned trak-tek inserts. I thought it might be a replacement for the Mini-Griptilian however the back of the blade is narrower than the Blur, and the closed knife is only a 1/4 inch smaller than the Blur, so it is still too intimidating for an EDC in an office. What I was really hoping for was a 4/5 scale Blur with curved metal handles with a machined diamond finish.
