Probably the best value of any premium pocket knife available! It has a lifetime guarantee, offers free sharpening is desired, made it the USA from USA made "super steel" 20CV. It's a great one hand operating EDC knife that will perform any reasonable task that come up (not including batoniing and stabbing car bodies like a crazy You Tube knife abuser). The $99.95 price is still a great deal. I paid just over $100 a year ago for its little brother (a Kershaw Link also in 20CV with the pocket clip removed) that I carry in my regular size wallet as a backup if the Link is not on hand. But it while it's still available and affordable and enjoy it for years.
This knife is an indulgence until you realize it isn’t. Being a USA made man, I favor USA manufacturers. This Link is a strong, yet easy to live with, American friend. It just works so easily with the spring assist and the liner lock is a safe reliable help. It’s heft isnt too much or little in hand. The Magnacut is a mystery to a layman like me, but it darned sure cuts anything from 2 layer cardboard to zip ties to wood carving. And just stays sharp while used daily. The scales are simple which explains the reasonable price. Just love it.
A very solid, simple and nice design. Aesthetically pleasing, comfortable in the hand and very functional. The liner lock works perfectly, very discrete and alleviates finger placement compared to frame locks. Value for money speaks for itself I only wish there were some accessories available such as Ti scales and such.
It has a good, solid feel. It is tight and precision built. Very easy to open one-handed. It opens with a positive, satisfying click. The fit and finish is excellent - it is a very pleasing knife to behold. It is a regular in my EDC rotation. As a knife fan, it is hard to pick a favorite (I don't have any knives I do not like), but this one keeps working its way to the front for its form,. feel, and functionality.
I recently purchased a ZT 0357 from Amazon but sent it back after some issues out of the box - marks on the handle, fading of the working finish near the tip, uneven bevel and extremely dull blade. As I was unsure whether this was normal for ZT or just bad luck, I decided to buy a Kershaw Link from the Knife Center instead. I knew the ZT and Link were extremely similar and were made in the same factory but as the Link was much cheaper, I'd be more tolerant of any quality issues. The Knife Center also offers an inspection service before shipping which I took full advantage of checking for blade centering, surface finishing and mechanical issues. Having received the Link and also a Spyderco today, I am extremely pleased with the knives and the service. Both knives were packaged securely, delivered by FedEx and arrived in perfect condition. For me, the great service is the highlight and I will certainly be purchasing more knives from Knife Center. About the Kershaw Link: Pro - Very well made - Anodized handles look classy and feel solid - Blade is very sharp out of the box and can push cut along the entire blade - Locking mechanism, open and closing works smoothly Con - Some black coating from the liners was deposited on my cloth when I wiped down the knife the first time. - Shipping cost Pro or Con - The knife is heavier than I expected. It's fine for me but those who prefer lightweight knives should try before buying. It feels solid and substantial. Overall Great knife at a great price from an excellent Knife Center. I just wish shipping to Asia was cheaper.
I have had the newer magnacut version of this knife for about a year now. I use it pretty much every day, mostly for opening boxes and cutting up cardboard (Corrugated cardboard is about the most abrasive substance known to man), but I have also used it to cut bamboo-like tall grass and even used it as a scraper to tiller a primitive self bow. I use a Worksharp field sharpener to keep it razor sharp. The long, tapered edge profile on the blade fits the 20 degree sharpening guides on the field shapener perfectly and gives you a consistent edge angle without the blade rocking. The blade holds an edge reasonably well, but when it starts to lose its razor edge, a few strokes on the fine sharpening steel and ceramic rod bring it back to razor sharpness. The flipper is quick and easy to use with a positive lockup every time. The liner lock is easy to unlock and has never failed to keep the blade locked. The aluminum scales are heavy for a folding knife, but feel good in the hand and give the knife the substantial feel of a quality tool.
Great quality to price ratio! "Super steel" and good design for under 85$. Was a little bit smaller then I thought, but good ergonomics for my small/medium hands.
This is a great knife! Sharp! And snappy, assisted flipper action! Luv the feel in the hand! Very smooth and crisp opening… did I mention it’s sharp?! My current EDC!
I use this knife as an all-around EDC knife to perform any neccessary job from cutting cardboard, paracord, rope, etc. It performs as it should for a CPM-20CV blade metal knife. It has great geometry and knife blade came perfectly centered as well. This particular knife in the 1776 Link series came with a deep carry pocket clip and had an improved grip design in the handles, unlike the other knives in the 1776 Link series, in which were great as well. You'd be hard pressed to find a better pure EDC sized knife with all these features and performance with a true "Super Steel" blade material for this price point. If I had to be critical of anything it would only be 1 thing, which would be that the factory edge is sub-optimal for the hard core enthusiast or end-user. However, that has unfortunately become very common now with almost all the big box brands, for whatever reason(s). That being said, it's only a minor speed bump for me and isn't enough to bump this knife from a 5-Star down to a 4-Star. I highly recommend this knife for anyone looking for a solid knife with excellent performance in a true EDC form factor for under $85.

My favorite EDC
Out of all the knives I own, the Link is my favorite knife to carry. At the $ 92 dollar price point it's a great value. The steel is very good and after two weeks it is still sharp. Just some light stropping and blade is razor sharp. The size is perfect in my opinion and I really like the assisted Flipper. Always ready to be deployed quickly either left or right handed. Im carrying this over more expensive knives. I wish they made different colors so I can have a backup in case this one gets lost.
I WAS going to 4-star this knife because fresh out of the box the flipper did feel sharp on the finger (as others have described) and a little tight, however I'm glad I waited for the break-in before reviewing. After a month of use the knife has broken in well and has a sweet action. The sharpness I felt was my own fault for applying too much force "in" on the flipper instead of "down" on it. YMMV, I suppose, but now that it's broken in and I learned 'how to flick it' I get no discomfort from the flipper tab. Post break-in it's a wonderful EDC. Didn't break the bank and made in USA.
This knife is perfect. The action is impressively smooth, I love the handles in aluminium. The finishing of the blade is fantastic like the sharpening, this knife is perfectly sharp just out of the box. I absolutely recommend this object to who whant a durable knife that can be use for every kind of stuff and in every situation.
You really can't go wrong with this knife. 3.25" mangacut blade will get the job done, assisted opening with solid snap opening action but easy to close, fits in your pocket with taking a lot of space. The only harp is the frame lock which is just a preference. I tried to not like this knife and there really isn't anything not to like about it. Would make for a great gift for a working guy
A bit stiff and it is very hard to use the flipper with sharp edges
Ok it is American made CPM 20CV steel so at least I know that is what it is. Can't say the same for other places. But the jagged edge of the flipper jimping literally cut my finger and I had to grind it smooth because it is so hard to push past the detent. Otherwise it is mostly fine, came out sharp enough I merely stropped the edge a bit to smooth out the grind marks. I'm hoping the assist weakens up like my Kershaw Turismo did, but if it doesn't I'm going to temper back the spring as it is dangerous to try and close it one handed. It is so strong it wants to pop out of your hand, not too mention if it has this much tension on it, it is liable to break as it snaps to a stop one too many times. I've had an assisted knife that was just like this and the spring broke within 6 months. Not to mention the law in my state (NM) considers assisted the same as an automatic so I better carry it where it is not concealed. Law only applies to concealed knives, silly law, a concealed keychain knife is illegal too. Size doesn't matter. Lock could use a little jimping as it's hard to disengage with the side of my thumb as well. I'd recommend the knife because it is 20CV and USA made plus the price and feels good in the hand, just the spring and jimping could use some refinement. Wouldn't mind black version either.
Smooth action, looks great! Blade material is top tier, very sharp. I carry this knife everywhere I go. I use it for everything including opening packages, meal prep, and any other purpose I can think of. Kind of like a kid with a can of spray paint! LOL!
