Yes. That's a knife. One guy commented giggles. It is almost comically large, although with the narrow handle and deep carry pocket clip it shows less than, say, a RAT1, any Spiderco, or even other deep carry knives half the size. I require a bit of a flick with an index finger on the flipper to open it. I always take care and usually use 2 hands whenever closing a frame lock, especially one this big. Not a problem for me. Handle feels cheap although light. Feels a little narrow for a knife this big, but it does allow it to ride in the pocket less obtrusively, if that can actually be said. Big. Cool looking. Sharp. Big. Did I say big?

My New Favorite Kershaw! Easier to carry than smaller knives
Pictures don’t do this knife justice at all. This knife has a large blade that fits securely in the handle which is barely longer than the blade. It’s easier carry in your pocket than most smaller knives. This knife is so light and compact: All the weight is in the blade. Don’t let the size turn you off. I actually bought this knife for a friend and decided to go for the new CKRT Ritual. I love upswept Persian blades, but I keep thinking about this new Kershaw and how good it felt in both my hand and pocket. This knife isn’t as. Showy as the Ritual, but it’s a much more practical and tactical blade. It’s made for hard work. The KVT bearings work great, but this blade is over 5 inches, and you need to open and close the knife a couple of times before it works perfectly. It’s just a little stiff right out of the box. It’s almost easier to push with your thumb and flick with the wrist. Don’t be one of those winey wimpy haters that give this 3 stars because it didn’t open perfectly right out of the box. Or complain that the flipper hurt your finger. Some of the complaints I read in these reviews are just so anal. If you need a knife with a longer blade, and want something that’s easy to carry that isn’t as threatening as a fixed blade, this is the knife for you. I love my new Ritual, but the more I right this, the more I realize this knife is better....DAM!...I should of gotten one for myself. Now they are all out of stock.

This thing is a giggle generator
First of all, yes it's huge, especially for a folder. But despite the size, it carries very easily. It's lightweight and slim profile mean that it really doesn't feel obtrusive in your pocket. You have to adjust as you sit down sometimes, but it really doesn't force any kind of contortions to keep from digging into your hip. Probably the best part about though is the tactile sensation of flipping the blade open. It's a wide blade with a lot of momentum, so it takes a bit of flick to get if moving, but then it just swooshes open and thunks into lock. It's just such a satisfying sensation, you could sit and just flip it open and lose track of time. Overall build quality is very good, it came sharp enough, though it does benefit from a little attention. The blade was well centered, and the movement was a bit heavy and slow, but it feels like it should, not like it's the result of a problem or mechanical issue. Right now it's being used as the garden sword to trim back overly tall rose bushes, and it does a great job at clipping through the stalks. It's a great knife to have, even if you don't have a real use for!

Surprisingly Good EDC
I knew this was going to be a massive knife and had no illusions of it working as an EDC, but I knew it was also going to be a fun knife. Well, I was wrong. It works surprisingly well as an EDC! Being as small as it is towards the end, it gets out of the way in my pocket the way smaller knives don't. The flipper tab works fine with enough force, but it's admittedly a lot of metal to move and for 100% consistency does need a little wrist flick assist, which honestly you're going to want to do anyway.

I'm writing this because I do not understand the bad reviews. It was sharp enough to cut paper with, Even if it was nowhere as sharp as my leaf hopper with K390. I have no difficulty in releasing the lock bar. Having had the experience of cutting my thumb when I released the blade off of my Cold steel Rawles Voyager, I tend to be somewhat cautious when releasing a big blade. With the KVT bearings, this blade falls shut fast enough to do some damage if I have body parts in the way. When when I am walking my dog, I do not fail to take a long a Sharp Tactical Anti-Beast tool. It is usually a Luzon XL or a 6-in Hold-Out. But when I carry this it rides easily in my back pocket. I have no problems with deployment. I would take the negative reviews with a very large grain of salt. I am very pleased with this knife and I can highly recommend it.

carries like its way smaller than it is
I've carried this for a couple of weeks now and it's a fun knife. i don't have to adjust anything when i sit down even though it's pretty big. its light weight and thin enough to carry every day. the deep carry clip really hides it well, i get a lot of funny looks when i pull it out of my pocket. the only thing i don't really like is it's a bit hard to open even after a break in period. I'm not a fan of frame locks either. this one is better than other frame lock knifes i have though. I'm not a fan of d2 steel but i got such a good deal on this knife i couldn't pass it up. overall, it was a good purchase.

TOO BIG
This chonker is so big that it literally broke it's box in transit. I had to tape it back together. I wrote a review on the correctly sized sister blade, the Strata. Everything I said about the milling and detail work holds true about Big Bertha here. But the increase in size destroys the refinement. Nimble? Heck no! It no longer flips well. If you start with it spine up or down and flip it, the sear inertia of the blade will carry it through to lockup. If you start with the spine to either side, it will reach lockup but struggle to the finish; like me in a 10 freedom unit dash. The G 10 scale, while still finely milled, is so big it's now out of balance. Part of it feels like a slab, part of it vibrates like cheap plastic. The lock bar is now so girthy, it's too stiff for the amount of purchase my thumb can get on it. And someone didn't polish the mating surfaces well enough. There's some grit in there that makes it that much harder to actuate. I've actually had to use both thumbs a couple of times. That's right, Bertha is a 2 hander, in more ways than one. Don't try closing it one handed. If it catches your fingers asleep on the job, it will bite. Ask me how I know. All that being said, it still sings but only on the close. At lockup, all you get is an unsatisfying "kerchunk" that reverberates a little. No bell like note. Still looks good, though!

Not Bad. . . Not Entirely Good Either
This is a big blade and a fairly nice D2 steel, this is the good. The bad is that the blade required a good amount of sharpening straight out of the box. If you have pockets big enough to fit this knife comfortably in, it is pretty difficult to get the knife out of the pocket with any speed. This is due to the small butt of the knife and the small and fairly smooth pocket clip provides little to grab on to. Not a bad knife if one is interested in the novelty of a big folder, but the aforementioned makes it an undesirable carry knife.

Near un-usable
I knew I was taking a bit of a risk on this funky knife, but what I got was the worst knife I've ever purchased. First, the flipper tab was completely un-usable out of the box. It simply would not break the detent (and I'm an athletic adult male). Even opening two-handed, the detent had a real sticky feel which I haven't felt with any other knife. After disassembling and lubing, it finally opens with the flipper tab, but still requires much more pressure than I'd like. However, the worst part is the frame lock. The frame is so narrow, and the lock surface so smooth, that it's incredibly difficult to disengage the lock. On one occasion, I had to try so hard to disengage it, that the blade closed on my finger when it finally unlocked. Fortunately it hit my fingernail, but it left a mark and was enough to say "never again" to one-handed use. The knife gets one star for a cool large blade, but is basically un-usable (and somewhat dangerous) for one-handed use due to poor design and action. I would say it's a big disappointment, but I didn't have high expectations in the first place.
