The Atmos is a homerun for Kershaw. Great general carry flipper. The KVT bearings are smooth as silk; opens with a finger touch. Blade perfectly centered and passes the phonebook paper test out of the box. Lockup is 100%. For me this is a very good general carry knife; around the house, office, out for dinner, etc. However, IMHO it is not a deep woods, long haul, heavy duty backpacking knife. I usually carry a 4 inch puukko. But at only 2 oz. I would easily put this in my backpack as a back up knife. Knifecenter service was outstanding as usual. Next day delivery! Great folks at KC!

GREAT EDC DESIGN FOR LIFE IN THE BURBS
I wanted a light, slim, deep carry for the little unplanned things that come up in everyday casual life and for self defense should the need arise. I didn’t want to pay extra for a prestige knife with super-duper blade able to cut nails and log forests. This knife is near perfect for me in these respects. Also, the handle being narrower at the top when clipped in my pocket facilitates reaching past it to get my keys out. It opens and operates well, no complaints there. My one suggestion for improvement would be to redesign the handle geometry at the lanyard end so when I reach in my pocket for keys, the back of my hand enjoys the experience a little more. I’ll modify this knife a little to address that, then it will be perfect!

For this price point...what can you say. This knife is excellent and exactly what it should be. For the previous reviewer...what you are feeling as "gritty" on the close is actually the detent ball having to hop up on to the blade Steel is well treated and expected at this price point. The knife is overall similar to the Fraxion, which I also own and like, but it's a "better" designed version. I also agree with the last reviewer that I'd love to see one in the $75-100 range with better materials. This is certainly better than knock off Shirogorov neons at the same price point...and it's giving the designer his dues. In conclusion an excellent light to medium duty edc. I don't see it leaving my rotation any time soon. Thanks for reading and I hope it helped.

Probably the best knife you can buy for the price. A lil Carbon fiber, nice bearings, super light And sharp. Drop shutty, the only downfall is the blade steel, 8cr13mov does not get high ratings, never had a problem with it, that being said buy 2!

I had to find a knife light enough to carry in my work shirt pocket. This is a winner! Bought 2 and have used them for two years. If this was in a high end steel it would be a bugout killer.

As an avid EDC user as well as a collector, I tend to expect a lot out of my blades. Generally I only buy higher end models but for some reason the Atmos stood out to me. So without ever holding one I ordered and am nothing short of impressed with this ~$30 folder. The KVT ball bearing system is amazing. This is a rare model that doesn’t include Kershaw’s prided speed safe awaited opening system. But the thing is, it opens like it has one. The deployment is fast and lockup is solid. Sharp right out of the box. G-10 scales are good and the carbon fiber inlays give it a classy look. Blade centering is perfect, no adjustment needed. I have it 4 Stars only because of a few small issues; 1) there is a small hang up when trying to close the blade one-handed. It’s part of the ball bearing system. Not critical and may get better over time as it gets worn in. 2) Wish it was offered in a better blade steel. 8Cr13MoV is a fine metal for everyday tasks but I’d like to see it offered in at least 154cpm, even at a higher price point. The jimping is a bit soft, but I wouldn’t expect anything more aggressive given the overall nature of the knife. At the price point, it’s an excellent value. It’s not going to be the work horse my Mini Griptilian is, but makes for an excellent EDC.

Great EDC
This knife is a great EDC alternative to the ZT0450 series. It carries and cuts the same. I actually prefer this inset liner lock over either frame or liner lock. Besides making the knife much lighter, on the ZT0450 if you squeeze the frame a bit when opening it stops the action - this doesn't happen on the Atmos. I deducted 1 star as it feels a bit sharp edged in the pocket. In searching for what felt sharp, I concluded it is just the sharp 90 degree edges on all the flats, both blade and scales. I will probably take mine apart and just polish/sand off the edges a bit, then it should be perfect. I agree with other reviewers, I would pay more for better materials and blade steel. The Atmos is almost underpriced for what it is - truly amazing!

This is a nice everyday carry knife...something you're happy to have in your pocket, but inexpensive enough to make it nearly expendable. The feel is good: relatively light and compact with an appealing handle. My only complaint: the handle intrudes into the base of the blade, making it difficult to sharpen. The steel is adequate: easy to sharpen yet keeps a nice edge.
