My new EDC, love the steel

This is my new daily carry knife. The size is perfect and I have always loved the axis lock (or whatever you want to call it). This is my first MagnaCut blade and I love it. It sharpens just fine and takes a mirror polish if you want one. Some steels don't work with a mirror polish but this one does and gets screaming sharp. Durability of the edge remains to be seen but I'm hopeful. Wish the blade finish was just satin but not a deal breaker. I love the color and feel of the scales but it is the weirdest G10 I've ever had. Feel is a suede or fuzzy texture and the material does stain and seem a bit dirty at times. Definitely not a Syderco G10 material. I will say that between the fuzzy texture of the scales and strength of the clip, this knife will never fall out of a pocket if clipped in. I polished the clip where it meets the side of the knife to at least let me pull it out of pocket more easily. I'm nitpicking because I really like the knife but others might find one of these things more of a negative. The price was great for the features, size, and steel. No regrets. Would buy again.

Smooth action

Been using it as a box cutter so far (ik how resourceful) but dang the action on this blade is insane. The Magnacut steel is also spectacular

Superb knife, obviously

The Bel Air has had so much attention that I don't feel like I need to add much. I'm pointing out here that the scales are micarta (basically a resin infused cloth/fabric) and not G10. Fans of micarta scales can be particular about the quality, and the scales on the Bel Air I received are wonderful. As for the knife: MagnaCut, thin blade stock, and small size were the attraction for me. The price is also quite good. The obvious comparison is to the mini Bugout. The action of the Bel Air is substantially better than the mini Bugout's in my opinion (the reverse flick is addictive), and the knife itself is 'sturdier'. The reverse tanto is also a more practical blade shape for a small edc - puncture and slice. Great knife.

Wonderful edc with fuzzy g10 scales

This knife checked all the boxes. Great Magnacut steel, great blade shape, easiest lock system made, and my favorite colored G10 scales. Very happy to get it. Feels great in hand and the grip from the scales is very solid. Like grabbing a Hush Puppy shoe. BUT. The g10 is unlike any g10 I own. It is fuzzy and feels like suede. That would be great except it absorbs oil and dirt like crazy. Oiled the pivot and the needle oiler dripped near the lock pin. Immediately oil stained the scale. Even water soaks into the material somewhat. I love the knife and don't regret my purchase. Hate aluminum scales. After more use I expect the g10 to absorb body oils and settle into a consistent look. Just be aware the material Kershaw has used is not like any g10 I've ever seen before and it changes color not in a good way. Oh, the pocket clip is stiff as heck but should ease up with use.
