Perfect EDC

Looking for an everyday EDC, this knife has everything. Lightweight, thin, smooth operation, sharp blade and easy to maintain. The micarta feels amazing, the perfect amount of grip. The bearings are smooth, almost too smooth. Honestly, this has been getting the most pocket time. Buy one, thank me later.

Incredible value

Don't mistake great value for cheap. This knife far surpassed all my expectations. USA made, MagnaCut, well done micarta handles and working finish that just plain works. This is my first Kershaw crossbar lock. Right out of the box, it is perfectly tuned and surpassed the out of the box feel of many of my other knives. Not sure how they can hit this price point as it has the feel, fit & finish of a knife twice its cost.

Improvements on greatness

Maybe I should be embarrassed to admit this, but this is my third Bel Air. Despite all the ravings and praise when it came out, I waited for the serrated version and love it and use it a ton. Then curiosity got me and grabbed the original plain edge version on sale and found it just as impressive. I couldn't imagine any desire to own the same tool in triplicate...unless they make a clip point... Dangit. Well, here it is with just a better (for me) blade shape that I can pinch up on with my index finger comfortably on the spine, so lightweight that the rest of it sits on my pinky (but I give that micarta a little rub because it feels right), and I'd rather use this folder than my exacto knife for precision. Oh, but it also performs all of the regular pocket knife duties excellently. It's so smooth, I can grab it out, deploy it, employ it, close it, and clip it back in my pocket in less time than it took to describe it. Maybe it'll be some chore when I finally need to sharpen it, but that need appears a long ways off. Will I buy a 4th? I mean, I could dream about a partially serrated clip point, NON-tactical-NON-coated, wearing blue denim, couldn't I?

Surprisingly awesome.

Bought because it was 46% off earlier this month. Came razor sharp out of the box. Smooth deployment. Nice action. I do recommend getting a Lynch clip or something because it isn’t raised enough to catch the pocket easily.

Bel Air

I have 3 Kershaw knives. Love them all. I have a leek S35N blade. Blur S30V blade. A Bel Air with magnacut blade. They are absolutely amazing knives. I have benchmade knives also love them all. For me the Kershaw knives work well, I’ve dressed deer and cut what I want, very good knives and with a great price compared to other knives if you compare apples to apples and all USA made which is important to me. And Knife Center has the best price and always deliver very promptly. Can’t go wrong with them, 5 stars all the way. Awesome company.

This knife is easily the best deal for an American made knife with Magnacut. Good Magnacut...heat treated correctly...63hrc. This version of the Bel Air has much more grippy handles and a clip point blade with an excellent stone wash finish. It's the perfect edc knife for small and medium size hands. Kershaw nailed this model.

lesson learned, order from a knife store

I ordered two Kershaw Bel Air clip points from amazon based on the numerous glowing reviews by the usual youtube knife influencers. Both were returned for what I'd consider glaring fit and finish issues. I decided to try one last time but this time I'd order from a company that specializes in selling knives. I left a note pleading for a "good one" and Knife Center delivered. Wicked shahp right out of the box, blade centered, smooth action, no grit in the bearings. I love this knife. It replaced my missing mini praxis :( Anyway, buy with confidence. Thanks guys and gals at knife center

The Better Bugout

If you're thinking about getting a Bugout, get this instead. Same use case of a super lightweight everyday knife but this is better in pretty much every way. The stuff I like the most: quality micarta handles, working finish on the blade, classic clip point profile has character, smooth action, USA made, value for money. I'm actually shocked at how good the materials and fit/finish are on a USA made knife of this price. Oh yeah and probably the best thing? Super thin blade stock with a full flat grind. This thing cuts like an absolute laser beam. Is it a "hard use" folder? No. But that's not what it's for. This is a cutter. I wish more knifemakers realized how useful thin blade stock is. If I could change one thing, I would make a slightly bigger version. If you have bigger hands this might be too small. This fits my hand fine, but I think this thing would be an 11 out of 10 if it had a 3.5" blade and corresponding handle with the same blade thickness. Keep the thin blade stock!

Second Kershaw Ever

Blade comes out of the box hair popping sharp, with zero blade wiggle in the action. Action is buttery smooth and very fidget friendly. Gimping on the back offers fantastic thumb retention for any sort of carving/whittling. And the blade stock lends itself to be very slicy. My ONLY complaint is the fact that the micarta likes to catch any sort of lint/stray hair/fuzz/fur. Keep in mind though it's the first knife I ever had with that material, so I went in blind 😅. That said, I might change the scales with stabilized wood or some G-10 since it has liners. Overall? 10/10 absolutely would recommend!!

For daily carry and general use, I like the magna cut blade steel and the Micarta handle material. A couple of issues that I have with this knife is the blade has opened when pulling it out of my pocket, a potential safety issue and when the blade is opened there is some side to side movement between the blade and handle, loose somewhat sloppy tolerance, the blade should not wiggle side to side.

First non-Spyderco

Price and service were excellent. I received it sooner than I expected. This knife ticked a number of firsts for me: first non-Spyderco; first Micarta scales; first axis style lock; first magnacut. Unfortunately also the dullest production knife I have received. Duller than a three year old Para3 in spy27 and a two year old Lil Native in 20cv, both of which have never been sharpened. When I get it sharpened I'm sure I'll love it. Feels good in the hand. Love the clip.

very good edc knife. Love the micarta. They need to make this in the XL version then it would be perfect. This is a little too small for my taste but I love the clip point and the magnacut is sharp out of the box. I didn't need to adjust the pivot unlike my benchmade.

Kershaw has really come close to Benchmade on this lock. Great size and ergonomics, and the clip point is great.The blade material is pretty thin however, and I was hoping for better edge retention.
