Love this knife!

I love this knife so much! Sharp, comfortable to hold, and light! I showed my dad my knife and now he has one on its way to him. Thinking about buying my little brother one just because. He needs to have a knife like this in his life.

Nice OTF

Impressed with the knife fresh out of the box. Good quality. This fires like a UTX 85. I like the spear point not being double edge. Great job Kershaw!

Best OTF I own

This knife has excellent action and a solid lockup. There is almost no movement when the blade is deployed. I own several OTF's from different manufactures and by far this is now my favorite. The handle ergonomics are on point, fit and finish is excellent and the blade came sharp and well styled. the price point is on par with Benchmade yet the construction is better (save the Infidel). All in all it's hard to ask for more from this knife!

Fantastic OTF!!

I've been collecting knives for about a year. I took the plunge on a Guardian Tactical Recon 035. I like it, but I LOVE this Kershaw...equal in fit & finish, and has a smoother/better opening action (My GT has a super strong spring - just a bit too much). Hope they make additional variants of this knife, would absolutely purchase again. Hard to beat for this price!

This knife is engineered at the highest level. Solid and great feel in the hand. No rattles and cheap sounding loose noises. Excellent knife at an excellent price!

Watch out Microtech!

Well done Kershaw!!! Just received this knife and all I can say is WOW!!! I love the feel of the handle, the ergonomics are great. It fits the hand naturally. I own several ultratechs and this knife is on par or exceeds them all. The blade fires and retracts with authority EVERY TIME, unlike the 500-dollar Hellhound I had to send back right after I bought it. Same blade play as ultratech. The button is much easier to manipulate but it is still as fast as my ultratechs. Kershaw wizards at work. The blade came sharper than any of my Microtechs too. If Kershaw expands this line Microtech will be in trouble! Seriously, this quality with a premium blade steel for HALF the price of an ultratech? As always great fast service from Knife Center. Don't hesitate these are gonna go fast!

Excellent OTF for the $'s

Most of the pro's have already been mentioned here, but to those complaining about the pocket clip, think about it. 99% of people don't need a huge pocket clip on your OTF or most other knives for that matter. They detract from the look of the knife and, most importantly, usually ruin how it feels in the hand. They poke, scrape and jab you when you actually want/need to use it. These smaller clips perform their function and don't get in your way. I was a LEO for 32 years and unless you are using this knife in an environment where you need to secure it in tough day-to-day possibilities like climbing, running and fighting (like military or first responders) you do not need or want a clip like that. If you want to kid yourself and think that you do, this OTF isn't for you in other respects as well. This knife is just about perfect in form and function for and OTF, especially at this price point.

Love the knife, but

Fires nicely, Blade came very sharp, love the feel of the knife very comfortable in the hand. The only thing it has a little bit more blade play than I expected typical of most OTF’s. all in all it’s a keeper.

Great knife

Solidly built and not looseness or rattle after many openings. Blade keeps its edge well.

Pocket Clip Sucks

Why is the pocket clip at an angle? The clip is too narrow, too pointy, too tight, too short, it sucks.

Nearly Perfect

The Pros: I've had this knife for a few weeks, and have been enjoying using it at work. The blade geometry allows this to slice with efficiency through average thickness cardboard, and foam; while the handle offers excellent ergonomics to help push through the thicker stuff. No chips or rolled edges yet, and still sharp enough for more work. No failures yet to fire and retract as well. The switch is also very comfortable and smooth in use. This feels like an actual tool! I disassembled this along with my Benchmade Shootout to compare parts, and both sets of locks are similar in thickness; and the wear marks make them appear to be hardened about the same. I have no doubt about the durability of this knife with proper care and maintenance. The cons: The clip needed bent out slightly so that it could fit over work pants, it now fits snug and works perfectly. The knife is almost non-existent in the pocket. The openings where the blade deploys, and in the channel where the switch slides are larger in comparison to the UTX-85, and Shootout. This may be an issue in the future with debris getting in easier; but so far has not been an issue. Overall: For $50 less than the least expensive Ultratech, and almost $60 less than the Shootout; this is a great option! If you want an excellent user with good looks, and ergos: this is it! If you want more style, and "attitude" go for the Ultratech. If you want a better performing blade for work; I recommend the Shootout.

Like this knife a lot

This is my first OTF knife and I love it. I find myself reaching for it more than anything else. It’s so easy to use.

I’m not sure there is anything bad to say about it, other than the pocket clip. The angle is a little odd, but it’s not very noticeable. The spring weight to open and close the knife also isn’t too stiff. Some Microtech’s I’ve handled were much harder to open and close. Great knife overall and I’m glad I took the plunge

Decent knife at the price

See a lot of stellar reviews. A lot of 5 star "best ever" reviews. I'll give a short real world owner review. I've got several otf so I can honestly conpare the quality over the competition. Overall the build quality is decent but not great. It is very comfortable in the hand which is a big positive. The action is very good as well. But seeing comparisons to other well known proven manufacturers isn't honest, or in some cases it's the first otf so it's the best ever. First the pocket clip. Not sure why they'd try to reinvent the wheel with this but it's a huge negative. It's way to tight and when wearing most quality jeans it won't even clip over the pocket. It's just too tight and small to use properly. In shorts the angle turns the knife in an odd position making it uncomfortable. For this reason I don't even carry it. Second, and I don't see how it gets the excellent reviews for the switch, but it rattles. When I say it rattles I'm saying even when you walk in lose pants it rattles with every step if it bounces off the leg. It feels lose which causes the rattle. In jeans it doesn't happen as it's tight against the body if you have tighter fitting jeans. None of my other otf do this, nor have I seen on others. Even cheap otf of current manufacturing don't do this. But I will say the switching tension is perfect, but having the rattles supercedes this. If the knife was a bit cheaper it would probably be okay for a first time buyer, but as it sits with this first generation otf it's not in the same league with others in the $200 to $400 price range. I'm sure they will make updates and I'm looking forward to a Gen 2 after the initial buyers conolaints come in.

Kershaw livewire failure

The first few weeks I liked it. But a month from purchase. I slid the switch to open. Blade came half way out and stuck. Won’t go out or in. Slide switch flops. No tension on switch. Sending to Kershaw and very nervous about depending on it in the future
