Slice it and taste it!

Great product, outstanding quality and build. The blade is very sharp, doesn't get caught in the process of cutting, and still retains a good rigidity to allow for a very great cut. Also the handle feels very well in the hand, and the weight balance is perfect. I will see how it performs in terms of durability and resharpening in time.

Shun does not stand behind their product

I own 15 Shun knives and apparently the two that rusted are not due to poor metallurgy but my storage of the knives. This insulting response to my outreach speaks volumes and demonstrates how poorly Shun stands behind their product. The knives are stored in the open in a low humidity environment. They're used regularly. For 2 of 15 knives to rust after only a couple years of use doesn't point to neglect. It points to poor metallurgy. Buy the German knives. They stand behind the quality of their product. Shun clearly does not.
