Kanso Utility Knife Review
I recently received my Shun SWT0767 Kanso Utility Knife with 7" Blade with Tagayasan Wood Handle scales. Great service and good price as I have always had from Knife Center (I bought mine on sale). I like that the knife was made in Japan and came very nicely packaged. Slice paper sharp right out of the box. Nice design, and the stonewash finish looks good. I am used to using this style of blade in the kitchen (I wanted to treat myself to a new one) and once you get accustomed with them, they are very useful and a pleasure to use. I am very picky so, that being said, the only thing I would like to change a little is the handle. I have a relatively large hand and found the handle a little on the smaller size for me. I prefer a handle a little more on the beefier side, but that's just me. I also noticed that the scales were slightly offset from one another on each side. Down the road I may replace the scales myself with slightly larger ones for a better grip that suits my hand. Other than that, I'm very happy with my new knife and I know it will give many years of great service. Aside from my picky complaint I am happy with my knife and I would not hesitate to buy another Shun knife from Knife Center.
