Pros: Weight, Ease of Opening, Pocket Clip, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
BEST value knife!
I purchased this knife with a textured micarta handle for EDC, mostly because I love the sheepsfoot-style blade, and because the size is conducive for EDC. WOW, I had no idea what a quality piece I'd get for my $165! The ergonomics lead to a perfect fit in my medium-sized hand. It is quite light-weight, yet it is also very sturdy and generates a feel of quality substance. The medium-firm detent leads to a consistent solid full deployment, and closure is achievable with a buttery gravity-drop to a crisp "clack". Two issues are: 1) I would have preferred a blade of M390 instead of S35VN... oh well, huh? It's still very good material, and, 2) the textured micarta handle, while providing a firmly grippable surface, unlikely to slip from one's hand, is a bit harsh for repetitive bare-handed fidgeting, and can be uncomfortable until callous forms. I have remedied the latter issue by ordering the very same knife with a carbon fiber handle, much smoother for my at-home fidgeting. I will still use my sure-grip textured micarta for EDC. Needless to say, I totally recommend the Kizer Carlos Elstner Clutch! Now that I have two, I will get more to give as gifts for my flipper-enthusiast friends...
