Pros: Weight, Handle Material, Overall Quality
Cons: None
better than expected grip
I use this for general purpose everyday use; food, whittling/cleaning wood cuts, boxes, etc. I have mostly carried spyderco knives for some time previously; this was an impulse purchase for novelty and to get something slightly smaller and lighter. the grip is better than I expected; I generally love micarta, and the shape accommodates a good size hand (my paws are medium-large, and the handle could work for larger). it is a thin design, which I am happy with, but there's a lot of twist control and it fills out the hand, while staying subtle in pocket--the clip is well designed and effective. the flipper tab makes an effective safety guard keeping fingers off the blade. the light weight makes it a bit feathery in the hand, but so far it shows no sign of fragility. the flipping action is efficient and practical, and satisfying to play with as well. I think the blade shape is just about ideal for me; there is a hint of recurve near the coil, though, which is a shame--makes it much less straightforward to sharpen, and generally unnecessary imo. I will probably profile it out. excellent design for appeal on the page, slightly less good for practical maintenance. the spacer at the heel of the handle is well-proportioned and I'd guess contributes to stability for the whole, while being safe and easy to maintain still. I cannot tell how durable the pivot will turn out to be, but so far there's no hint of play. I am happy to use this as a relatively light and presentable tool to carry everywhere. the steel isn't the absolute greatest I've used but is no slouch and seems to polish up to a nice edge with little fuss, and the stonewash finish is slick and subtle.
