Well Engineered Knife
This is my first Kizer knife. I liked the looks of this knife at the outset. What I was not prepared for was the obviously well designed and engineered features of the knife. First is the overall "feel". Some knives have a real problem with this but to me the Kane Vanguard feels right in my hand. I especially like the way you can choke up on the harppon blade for finer work. There are a number of smaller but still impressive features. I like the detent that holds the blade in place when it is closed. Very well crafted and it smoothly works when you want it to. The blade flipper is superb. It allows you to open the blade easily but not so flimsily that it opens on its own. The ceramic bearings produce this. Kizer also removed a small half moon of the liner opposite the linerlock so that your thumb can make a solid purchase on the linerlock for one handed closure. These are the signs of solid engineering and design. Add the quality materials (VG-10 blade, G-10 scales) and you have a real winner!
