Thank God it’s not a spydiechef.

Spydiechef. KUF Lcn200🙄. Magnacut👌 Lock Stick🙄. Lock (Smooth as silk🙌) Horrible Pocket Clip🙄. Great pocketclip&placement🙏 Fit and finish🙄. Absolutely best fit&finish of any knife ive ever touched. Severely overpriced due to spyder-tax🤮 To the review that compared this knife to a spidechef is laughable. This knife (KUF) is superior in every way. Heat treat spot on. Edge retention is no comparison between the 2. I’ve carried this knife on duty and in the kitchen since the day it arrived and it’s the cats meow. Mostly food use, but a few airbags and stropping is all it has taken to bring it back to hair popping sharp. Action is smooth as silk and no adjustments needed since I’ve had it. I sure can’t say that about the Spydiechef I gave away and laugh at my friend trying to figure out the lock stick 😂. As the heading says Thank God it’s not a Spydiechef. It’s a perfect tool built in perfect fashion.

Excellent in every way possible. F@F perfect. Shaving sharp out of box. Great small kitchen/camp cooking knife. Versatile enough for edc. Very good ergonomics. Strong detent. Can not say enough good about this knife. Also a shout out to knife center for having it in my mailbox in 2 days from placing order.

It's no spydiechef

On paper, the KUF 3.5 reads like a love letter to the SpydieChef—with its long, flat-ground blade, titanium scales, and kitchen-friendly geometry—but in practice, it’s less an homage and more a bold reinterpretation. Unfortunately, it also reveals some of the inherent difficulty in walking that fine line between inspiration and imitation. But if you’ve ever held a SpydieChef, the silhouette will look suspiciously familiar—a graceful curve from pivot to tip, a neutral handle, and a long, food-slicing blade. Whether intentional or not, the KUF 3.5 invites comparison—and not always in its favor. The handle, while attractive, feels less intuitive in hand, particularly during prolonged use. The absence of deep contouring and the choice of a flat, blockier profile makes the KUF feel more like a folder with a kitchen-style blade rather than a true folding kitchen tool. The SpydieChef, by contrast, melts into the hand during use, thanks to Spyderco’s thoughtful attention to grip, choil placement, and balance.
