Pros: Weight, Handle Material, Pocket Clip, Overall Quality
Cons: Lock Ease of Use

Great EDC Slipjoint, Strong Backspring

If you like the Navaja Bandolero style of slipjoints, this is a great choice. Steel sharpens well, the handle looks traditional despite the very modern materials, and the pocket clip certain makes this easy to carry. I keep it IWB, and it fits snuggly at the right hip joint in a relatively small profile despite the over 3 inch blade. Chamfered edges and great tolerances help too. My word of caution is absolutely that backspring. It is strong. This cannot be understated, but is certainly more feature than flaw. If you're concerned about slipjoints due to no secure lockup, this is as good as you'll find outside of a fiction folder tab or finger choil. That said, it takes effort to open and more to close. Considerably more, especially in the first few days of operation. Until you're used to it, I'd recommend wrapping the blade in loose cloth a few times as you go to close it: even a few turns with a hankie or shirt hem will prevent a nick until you index that half-stop. It's not a real threat, but this can soothe concerns. That said, if you have any issues with grip strength or dexterity, I do not recommend this tool. It will be frustrating and unsafe, which is a shame for such a great knife. Treat it well, and it will be a great companion.
