MY FIRST MASERIN, WON'T BE MY LAST !
This being my first Maserin, I can't comment on overall brand quality, but on this one, the quality is near perfect. There was just a little bit of side to side blade play when I took it out of the box, but I tightened the pivot just a bit and it's good and tight now. Still flips open extremely smoothly using either push button or light switch techniques. If you want to open it manually, just use your thumb and middle finger in the groove on the blade and it opens easily. Texture on the G10 side is pretty good, not like my Emerson's, but than what is.Blade locks up good and tight and looks to be about 40 percent. Shaving sharp out of the box. The glass breaker is integral to the spacer on the end. Overall fit and finish is pretty good, although if they had relieved the G10 on the top and at the bottom back where the jimping is, you could get a better purchase on it. Still, with the jimping on the spine, you get a good grip. I really like the O.D handles and to tell you the truth, if some one puts O.D. on a knife and I see it and can afford it, I'll probably buy it. On this knife, that's just a plus. The bearings on this may be the smoothest of any knife I own, and some of my ZT"s are pretty smooth, but not like this one. Balance in the hand is great, especially for a bigger knife. Doesn't feel like it weighs as much as it does in the hand, but you might not want to carry it in your pocket. In any case it comes with a sheath, not the best quality, but pretty good. Overall, I'd say I love this knife! Will be buying more Maserin's as soon as I can. Give them a try, I don,t think you'll be sorry. Thanks to Maserin for a great knife and to Knife Center for another great order experience!
